Save on groceries
Ibotta’s most popular category is groceries, and for good reason! You can find your grocery store in the app and select the offers you plan to purchase. After you go grocery shopping, you just take a picture of your receipt and cash will be loaded to your account. I love the any brand offers!

Save on craft supplies
I love making crafts and anything DIY, so if I can get cash back on craft supplies I’m a happy girl! Shop on the Ibotta app for cash back from Joann’s and other craft retailers. Just go to Find Offers and select the Crafts & Gifts category.

Get cash back when buying gifts when you shop through the Ibotta app. You can shop at many popular stores, like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Etsy, Amazon, and many more.
Save on household items
Use the Ibotta app to save on household items like toilet paper, paper towels, and laundry detergent. Just select the store you will be shopping at, find the offers you plan to purchase, and upload your receipt.
Save on date nights
Date nights are so fun, but don’t have to be so expensive. Use the Ibotta app to grab a Groupon for a new restaurant or fun attraction, and get cash back. Not only are you getting a great deal with the Groupon, but you get cash back, too!

Save on Amazon Prime
Amazon Prime is a great deal by itself, but Ibotta makes it even better! Right now, Ibotta is offering a $20 gift card when you sign up for Amazon Prime through the Ibotta app. I’m not sure how long this deal will be on Ibotta. It’s hard to find great deals on travel, but Ibotta has some great cash back deals at many travel retailers. Find travel deals by tapping Find Offers, then the travel category. You can get cash back on hotels, flights, and more!

Save on home and electronics
Get cash back on home and electronics through the Ibotta app. You can shop at Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, World Market, Big Lots, and more. (The items are pretty selective, but it’s worth checking out before making a purchase.)
Save on Target shopping sprees
Because, who doesn’t love Target?! Get cash back when you shop through the Ibotta app. (Currently 1%, but that can add up quickly!)
Save on clothes
Online clothes shopping is so much better than going to the stores in my opinion. So, why not shop through the Ibotta app and get cash back to buy more clothes (or save!). Check the clothing category for deals from stores like American Eagle, Banana Republic, Belk, Buy Buy Baby, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Gap, Kohl’s, and many more.

I buy makeup maybe once a year, and you better believe I’m as frugal as I can be buying makeup.You can get cash back on makeup from drugstores or Ulta.
Save on pet supplies
As my husband says, there’s no such thing as a free animal. But we love them no matter what! 🙂 Get cash back on pet supplies like dog and cat food and treats.
Save on restaurants
Currently Ibotta doesn’t offer cash back on too many different restaurants, but every now and then they have great offers. Check your emails and the restaurant category. Right now, I see an Olive Garden offer.

Save on beer
Because, seriously where else can you save money on beer? Ibotta almost always has cash back offers on wine, beer, and spirits. And the deals can be up to $5 cash back!
Don’t forget the bonuses!
Ibotta regularly has bonus offers, like if you redeem so many offers, you get a bonus. Or, a back to school offer where you get $5 cash back for redeeming a certain offer.

If you are just starting out using the Ibotta app, I would suggest starting with groceries to get a feel for how the app works. Check out the other categories and always check the app before you shop!
When you earn cash back, you can withdraw your money into your PayPal account, Venmo account, or on a gift card.
If you want to increase your savings, I would add the money to PayPal or Venmo. Earning gift cards is great for buying gifts around the holidays or stocking up for when you need to buy a gift.

It's trending as an alternative to the longer-standing 50/30/20 method. Experts warn that putting just 10% of your income into savings may not be enough.
A cheap person would be motivated by their savings and prioritize saving every penny at the price of value. Where the frugal person would do their best to use their limited resources and maximize their value. Still, they would be conscious of how they spend their money and the quality they get.
Frugal living is about being intentional with your spending, finding contentment in simplicity, and making financial choices that align with your values and long-term goals.
