“1933”, “1975”, “1975-D”, “1975-S”, “1999-S”, and “2010-S” Washington Quarters – Production Blog (2024)

All are over-struck on genuine US Mint Washington Quarters (circa1932-1998), unless otherwise noted.
Some were broad-struck and/or multiply struck with moderate shift betweenstrikes.

In 1932, on the occasion of the200th anniversary of George Washington’s birth, the first WashingtonQuarters were minted. But no quarters were minted the following year in 1933.Normal production resumed in 1934.

No Washington Quarters were originallyissued with "1975" dates because the "1776-1976"Bicentennial coins were minted during the 1975 and 1976 calendar years. 1998was the last year for the regular Eagle reverse coins and it was also the lastyear that the date appeared below the Washington bust. The statehood seriesstarted in 1999 and the beautiful America series started in 2010.

NOTE: These are NOT endorsed bythe US Treasury. Defacing of US coins is legal so long as the defacement isn'tfor fraudulent purposes.
