31 of the best healthy seasonal recipes to cook this January. You will find hearty soups and stews, nourishing dinners, meal prep lunches, and fun snacks and treats.
January is one of my favorite months of the year. Typically quiet, and slow, and the best opportunity to get in the kitchen and spend long lazy Sunday afternoons cooking up a storm.
Today I am sharing 31 of my all-time favorite recipes to make in the month of January. Healthy, nourishing recipes, and some fun treats to warm up even the bleakest of January days.
WHAT'S IN SEASON IN JANUARY?
This will depend on the region of the world that you live in, naturally. Here in the northeast, we have entered the bleak cold days of winter. I visited my local, year-round, farmers market yesterday and the selection was minimal.
Root vegetables and heartier greens will support us through these cold months, and I am forever grateful for the bright beautiful citrus, that comes to us from the south and the west coast, to brighten up my meals in the coming days.
Fill your market bags with these other seasonal goodies:
- Beets
- Cabbage
- Carrots
- Kale
- Mustard Greens
- Sweet Potatoes
- Cranberries
- Pears
- Citrus Fruits; tangerines, grapefruit, oranges, and Meyer lemons
You are going to LOVE these healthy breakfast recipes, supportive meal prep lunch recipes, nourishing hearty dinners, and refined sugar-free snacks and treats.
If you make one of these recipes leave a review below and let me know how you liked it or share a photo on Instagram with the tag #AbrasKitchen so I can share your masterpiece!
