If you’re anything like me, you might tend to spend a majority of your money over the weekend. Why? Because most people like to have fun, relax, catch up with loved ones during the weekend etc.
However, one of the best ways to get your finances back on track is to commit to having a no spend weekend to reset your spending habits.
I’ve talked about having a no spend week before, and a no spend weekend is not much different. You simply set your guidelines by determining the necessary things you will spend money on like groceries, bills or gas, and avoid spending money on anything else.

Wow! What a list! I just wrote a similar one myself for when you’re stuck inside with kids!

Thanks Kara! There’s so many free/cheap activities to do with kids I feel like I barely scratched the surface.

That’s a heck of a list. I do some of those things. I need to try some of the other activities.

Yes, whenever you think about going out and spending money, consider doing something free first.

We enjoy baking and fantasizing about vacations. I hope to bring them to fruition one day. Great list!

I hope so too! Thanks Shirria!
This is an epic list, Chonce! I have no trouble filling my weekend with things to do, but I still got a number of ideas from this list that I may have to steal and integrate into some of my upcoming weekends. One thing I haven’t been doing but have wanted to do for a long time is draw. My wife even got me supplies for my birthday (a year and a half ago now…) but I haven’t touched them.
Choncé says
I stay pretty busy during weekends as well but I also tend to spend a lot of money vs during the week when I spend hardly anything. Drawing can be so relaxing and I hope you get to use some of your supplies soon.

Great list, but almost none of those are actually free. Being literal, of course. But not too far off – anything that you drive to is costing money off the bat. Etc….
Choncé says
Hi Noah, a lot of these things are free in context depending on your situation and what you find interesting. If I were going to a free event or going to pick up free food from my favorite restaurant, I personally wouldn’t consider the gas I have/put in my car paying for that experience because I need fuel in my car for other things too. If you don’t have gas though or a way to get around, you can always work with what you have at home to entertain yourself at no cost for the time being.

My favorite free activity… sex! I also love organizing cupboards and drawers to declutter and take things to consignment shops. Great list!
