If your smart speaker is connected to your business network, your managed services provider (MSP) should already be monitoring this type of behavior for the speaker and any other strange usage.
At home, this can be a little more complex. There are really two ways to track information like what devices are connected or if a device is using excessive data. If your internet service provider (ISP) offers a monitoring app, that is going to be the easiest way forward. Typically, these apps have tools for controlling which devices have access to your network and can even help set up data use caps or parental controls.
The alternative method is to watch traffic through your router and a web browser. For that, you’ll need your IP address and your router account login, which is usually provided at time of install by your ISP.
