The Shopify Affiliate Program includes entrepreneurs, educators, influencers, and content creators who inspire and teach their audience about entrepreneurship with Shopify. It also includes others who refer their entrepreneurial audience to Shopify. The program is free to join, and enables you to monetize your audience and earn commissions from each new Shopify merchant referral. As an affiliate, you can earn a commission for each user who signs up for a paid plan with your unique affiliate tracking link.
To apply for the Shopify Affiliate Program, you need to meet the following requirements:
- You own and run an active website
- You have an established audience
- You create original content, such as online courses, blog posts, videos, or guides
- You have experience with commerce, entrepreneurship, Shopify, or other ecommerce platforms

What is Impact?
Impact is the trusted third-party affiliate tracking platform that hosts the Shopify Affiliate Program. Impact provides Shopify affiliates with third-party tracking, real-time reporting, and monthly commission payments.
I’ve already been approved for the Shopify Affiliate Program through my Shopify Partner Account. Do I need to apply again through Impact?
Yes, the migration won't occur automatically because this is an entirely new Affiliate Program. You must actively register with Impact and switch all existing referral links before June 30, 2022 to continue earning through the Shopify Affiliate Program. How do I know if my application is accepted?
Shopify carefully reviews each application. If your application is approved, then you'll receive an email confirming your acceptance and next steps on how to get started. In most cases, applications to the Shopify Affiliate Program are processed within 5 business days.
Due to the high volume of submissions, we are unable to provide feedback on applications that are denied.
How are referrals tracked?
Once you have been accepted into the Shopify Affiliate Program, you’ll be asked to log in to Impact and create your referral link. Use your referral link to direct your audience to a Shopify landing page and to receive a commission for each qualified referral.
How much can I earn as an affiliate?
Shopify Affiliates earn money based on referrals. Earnings vary depending on the location of the merchants that you refer. To learn more, refer to Shopify Affiliate earnings.
How do I get paid?
The Shopify Affiliate Program uses Impact to issue payments. Impact requires a minimum balance of $10 USD (or the approximate equivalent in your local currency) before you can withdraw your account balance. Once you reach the minimum balance amount, you can withdraw your account balance and send it to your bank account or PayPal account. Affiliates can choose to be paid when their balance reaches a certain amount or on a bi-weekly basis.
What information can I track about the merchants I refer?
Impact allows partners to track their performance based on a range of different data points. To view all the available reports, log in to your Impact account and select Reports from the navigation bar at the top, then click All Reports.
What are Shopify’s brand guidelines?
Check out Shopify's brand guidelines and make sure you're using the branding guidelines correctly. By using our brand assets, you indicate that you've accepted Shopify's Trademark Usage Guidelines and you understand that a violation of these guidelines results in the termination of your agreement with Shopify through your Impact account.
