Certiport, a Pearson VUE business established in 1997, is a skilling company that helps learners gain knowledge and develop skills to achieve success in their academic and professional pursuits. We provide effective learning and practice materials as well as industry-recognized certification exams.

Certiport conducts periodic data forensics to identify patterns of aberrance in exam results that help detect cheating or content piracy. For example, forensic indicators such as types of responses, latency, pass rates, and retakes may reveal patterns of cheating, collusion, or piracy.

Any score of 700 or greater is a "pass." Any score below 700 is a "fail." (Exams scaled from 1 to 100 with passing score scaled to 70.)

Online tests are increasingly equipped to detect screen sharing or the use of secondary devices. Advanced monitoring software can detect unusual activities, such as running screen-sharing programs or having multiple displays active, which could be indicative of cheating.

What happens if you fail a Certiport exam? ›

If a candidate does not achieve a passing score on an exam the first time, the candidate must wait 24 hours before retaking the exam. If a candidate does not achieve a passing score the second time, the candidate must wait 2 days (48 hours) before retaking the exam a third time.

Exam site licenses and learning and practice materials are offered by Certiport for use by institutions that will have multiple candidates taking certification exams at a single site. Colleges, schools, and government entities can obtain significant savings by purchasing site licenses because there is no per-test cost.

Through audio and video recordings, screen monitoring, and advanced algorithms, the software analyzes patterns to identify potential cheating behaviors, ensuring a secure and fair exam environment.

Image proctoring:

The AI algorithms analyze the student's behavior and surroundings in real-time, looking for any suspicious activity or attempts to cheat. If the image proctoring system detects any potential cheating, it can alert the exam proctor and prevent the student from continuing the exam.

Unless your instructor explicitly permits it, it's advisable to steer clear of phones. Proctorio can flag phone usage as suspicious behavior, which might jeopardize your scores.
