Our mission
After years on Wall Street using old, outdated and overpriced data platforms, our founders reached a conclusion: there had to be a better way to analyze data and gain investment insight. Every industry they could think of had turned to tech and put the user first — all except investing.
So we set out on our mission to revolutionize the industry by building a platform that puts the user in control, that gives them acces to live data and powerful analytical tools, all at a price that doesn’t alienate individual investors and students.

Koyfin is founded
Spotting a gap in the market for affordable powerful investment tools & leveraging his experience in data & analytics, Rob founds Koyfin.
2016
Rich joins
Rob’s Rutgers Alumni joins as co-founder and takes the role as Head of Product and Design, adding investment experience and technical expertise.
2018
First product launch
We launch our first product. User uptake is slow, but our powerful product turns some heads.
2019
Seed investment
After two years of bootstrapping, we are honored to have Social Leverage and Craft Ventures come on board during our seed funding round.
2020
100k users
Our userbase steadily grows since launch and we reach 100k users. Rumour has it a beer or two was consumed at Koyfin towers.
2021
200k users
Thanks to a great product and a passionate user base, our second 100k users follow soon after.

Launch paid plans
The next stage of our roadmap sees us launch paid plans to offer more advanced tools to advanced users and still keep a powerful free option for everyone else.

The Koyfin Mobile app launches to help our users stay in the loop on the go.

Rob Koyfman
Co-Founder & CEO
Rob Koyfman is the co-founder and CEO of Koyfin which provides investors with tools to research stocks and follow market trends.
He started his career at Goldman Sachs Investment Research in 2002 and later transitioned to a proprietary trading role in London. Following that, he worked as head of Macro and Thematic Trading Strategy at Citigroup and worked as a Strategist at Caxton Associates, Lyxor Asset Management, and Tekne Capital.
Rob started Koyfin in 2016 because he was frustrated with the analytical tools available to most investors that don’t have access to Bloomberg. In his spare time, he enjoys running on the beach with his dog Audrey and going to UCB improv shows.

Eddy Koselman is the Head of Engineering at Koyfin, who combines his expertise in Engineering Management with high skills in product and architecture.
In the past, Eddy was leading several teams across multiple disciplines including offshore. Demonstrated history of delivery. Skilled in Distributed systems, Go, Ruby, SOA, Software as a Service (SaaS), Docker, K8s and AWS. Strong engineering professional with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) focused in Computer Engineering.
