How to answer AirPods 2nd generation? ›

Answer a call: Press the stem once on either of your AirPods. Note: If you turn on announce calls, you can also answer or decline a call using your voice. End a call: Double-press the stem on either of your AirPods.

If your AirPods volume is too low only when you use them with your iPhone, go into the Settings app, then Sound & Haptics > Headphone Safety. AirPods Pro 2 with MagSafe Charging Case (USB-C) are dust resistant and sweat and water resistant for non-water sports and exercise, and have a rating of IP54 under IEC standard 60529. AirPods Pro and AirPods 3 are sweat and water resistant, but they are not waterproof or sweatproof.

AirPods (1st and 2nd Gen) – These have little to no water resistance and they won't cope well with moisture or water. So, you'll have to be extra careful. AirPods Pro – They're rated as IPX4 water resistant. Making them suitable for a little bit of rain and your workouts at the gym.

Do Airpods Stay In While Running? Well, most of the time, they do. I get very, very sweaty when I workout – like on a scale of 1-10, I'm almost always in the 8-10 range. These have not fallen out in any workout except running.

After two or three years of regular use, the batteries in AirPods can start to degrade to the point of being eventually unusable. If you find yourself regularly losing power part way through the day, then it's probably time to either pass them on or recycle them. These are great ways to extend their lifespan.

It could be, for example, that the battery is nearly out of power or accessibility settings on your Mac or iPhone are limiting the volume. Also, if you're close to the edge of their Bluetooth range, performance may be erratic, and that could include your AirPods' volume being too low.

If you're paired to your iPhone and no update seems to be happening, put your AirPods earbuds back in their charging case, connect it to a power source, and re-pair the device to force an update.
