Is Alan Titchmarsh married?

Apologies in advance to any prospective sugar babies who were ready to fake an interest in gardening for a shot at that £7.1 million, but sadly Alan is taken.

Alan tied the knot with his wife Alison on July 26, 1975, and the two have been happily married ever since.

Despite being a gardening expert, Alan did have a very costly gardening mishap that he kept secret from his wife.

During a winter cold snap, two of the couple's terracotta pots - which had been imported from Italy - split down the middle, causing the yews inside to become exposed.

Writing about the ordeal in Country Life, Alan said: "It was clearly beyond repair.

"A replacement will cost… if it’s all the same to you, I would rather not write down the precise sum lest my wife catches sight of it."

Alan was then the unenviable task of extracting the yews from their pots and pruning their roots - without damaging the expensive pots.

Let's hope his wife doesn't read Country Life!
