Amanda Burrell HBO Deal: Ex-Team Downey President Signs Two-Year Pact with Ginger Productions (2025)

Former Team Downey President Amanda Burrell has secured an overall deal with HBO for her production company, Ginger. The two-year agreement, which began in January, means Burrell will have multiple projects in development at the premium network. This deal comes after Burrell founded Ginger following her departure from Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey's production company, Team Downey, where she led the television division and served as president. During her time at Team Downey, Burrell developed a strong relationship with HBO, executive producing the Team Downey series Perry Mason and Park Chan-wook’s The Sympathizer (with A24), as well as three seasons of the Emmy-winning Netflix series Sweet Tooth. Burrell remains attached to several Team Downey projects, including the Netflix adaptation of Brian Watkins’ Weather Girl, two other series in development at the streamer, and several feature films, including The Hider at Universal. Burrell's career began in the New York independent film world, with stints at Miramax and GreeneStreet Films. She is represented by attorney Patti Felker.
