It is possible to graduate to a better offer from the Amazon Secured Credit Card if you use the card responsibly for at least 12 months. More specifically, the issuer may graduate your card to the Amazon Store Card if your account history shows on-time payments and a low credit utilization. Your overall creditworthiness will also be taken into account.

No, you cannot do a balance transfer with the Amazon Secured Credit Card. In general, balance transfers let you shift high-interest debt from your current account to another issuer's credit card and pay off the balance, presumably at a reduced interest rate.

Unfortunately, you cannot get a cash advance with your Amazon Secured Credit Card. The card can only be used for purchases at Amazon.
The fact that Amazon Secured Credit Card cash advances are not an option might actually be a blessing in disguise. Cash advances are very expensive, due to a cash advance fee and a separate cash advance APR that apply as soon as you withdraw the cash. There may also be ATM-owner fees, depending on where you make...

While I appreciate being approved for this card, I was disappointed to learn that one cannot increase the credit limit on the card with an on-demand additional deposit. You can only increase the credit limit on the card with an additional deposit by invitation from the issuer! Had I known this, I would never have opened the account with the $100 minimum deposit.

After years of not using credit, and most credit history dropping off I had to start over building credit. I started this journey with the Amazon secured card, as I am a Prime member and frequent Amazon shopper. Initially I started with a $500 secured deposit and credit limit in April of 2022, my score was a 565. After a few months, I had set aside an additional $500 and applied to increase the credit limit and deposit to the max $1000, and successfully completed this in July of 2022, my score increased to 644 then.
I always paid off the card without carrying a balance to pay interest, and kept the reported utilization well under 30%, generally under 10%. After having the account open for 6 months, I opened a different store card without needing a deposit, and then have opened a couple of regular credit cards. Keeping my utilization low, I'm up to a score of 730 now. In less than a year, I've been able to create a decent credit score and history, and this card was a great start to the journey.
In a couple months, it will have been a year since I opened the secured card and expect to be rolling it over to an unsecured card and getting my deposit back.
I have not had any negative experiences with the card. It does take them a couple of day to post payment to account after submitting it, which is a very minor annoyance, but I'm aware of this and used to it.

I originally opened this secured card when my credit score was very low and needed to get started on repairing my credit score. I had just financed a new car and had recently started working at a new job, so money was pretty tight. $100 was all I could spare to establish this line of credit on the secured card. Over the months, I've improved my score and now have significantly more money saved up. They don't provide any easy way to increase the amount of credit on this secure card, so the $100 credit limit makes it nearly impossible to keep my credit utilization under 30%, which in turn means I essentially can't use this card. I recently made a small purchase for $33 and paid it off right away, but not before it reported above 30% credit utilization to my credit score and dropped me 47 points. Disappointing and disheartening. Wish they had an easy way to increase the amount of the secured card.

Junk. Got card April 2021. Secured with deposit $200. Never missed a payment and pay off balances immediately nevercarry a balance!! . They say they automatically check for upgrades to unsecured. Bs! Called & requested review and was told they did it at 1 year and I wasn't eligible. Asked why ? They can't say. Asked why I wasn't sent a letter? They don't send letters. Answer was check w/ credit agencies. Ha! Hi transunion why didn't Amazon upgrade my card at 1 year? Seriously load of crock! Credit score has only gone up. Nearly 85-90 points since I opened this card. Meanwhile Discover approves an opening limit at $3k!! And TD at $2500! Synchroy sucks!! They always have & always will.

I put down $200.00 on this secured account. I had an issue with where the payment was being taken from. Basically they tried to pull from my checking account which had no funds. I quickly fixed the problem and made my payment, but because my declined the payment they closed my account immediately. Not a word closed it down. Sent me my check for remaining money after balance. I am floored by this. You don't even give a chance to fix an error you just shut them down. I could only charge $200 I couldn't go over that so what did they have to lose if a mistake was made. They had my money and would of been paid regardless. Instead of knowing your secure and letting me continue with my account, you shut it down as if something bad happened to your multi billion company. Selfish and in times like this where many are struggling. How do you look yourself in the mirror. Petty is what Amazon is.

You really should allow people to post negative Stars! Do not, I repeat do not, get an Amazon card through Synchrony Bank! I went in to make a payment for $50 like I do every month but two days later my entire bank account was drained because they took all my money out of my account and after repeated calls I get conflicting stories about whether or not I have to wait a month for a paper check to get my money back or they could just directly put it back into my account within 48 hours which they have not done either! So unless you like getting taken for everything you have and pay outrageous interest rates on top of that, do not get this card or any card through Synchrony Bank!
