A year after it happened, Heard now lives in the city of Madrid and Johnny Depp is trying to lead a quiet life in Somerset. According to a report from People, Heard just paid Johnny that $1 million settlement money and the actor quickly put it to good use. In fact, he is using it for the best possible reason. This goes to show that either Johnny Depp is well advised by his publicist or he simply always had this plan.
What did Johnny Depp do with the money?
According to People, Johnny Depp divided that money for five different charities of his choosing. A total of $200,000 will go for each organization, which are the Make-A-Film Foundation, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Tetiaroa Society, and the Amazonia Fund Alliance. It's no surprise Depp has decided to do this and yet people are already starting to question his motives. We are talking about one of the most successful Hollywood actors who is by no means poor. Plus, using that money for something different would've definitely gotten him criticized. Not that he is not already being criticized by Amber Heard's fans on a daily basis.
With this last payment, Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp can now be considered a cased completely closed that left us many moments to remember. But it also serves as the perfect cautionary tale of how a relationship can become extremely toxic in a matter of only a few years. Also, blaming one side or the other in a relationship where both sides made terrible mistakes is not the best way to go about it. Even if the jury found Amber Heard was probably lying, this doesn't mean Johnny Depp has no guilt in this. He's just as responsible as Amber for not getting out of such a terrible situation in due time.
