Amex Blue Cash Everyday Review
4.2 / 5
The American Express Blue Cash Everyday Card is a good credit card for people with a 700+ credit score. Amex Blue Cash Everyday is especially worthwhile for applicants who want a $0 annual fee and bonus rewards on U.S. supermarket, U.S. gas station and U.S. online retail purchases. The Blue Cash Everyday Card also offers 0% introductory APRs and a $200 statement credit for spending $2,000 in the first 6 months.
Blue Cash Everyday Review Highlights
1. Earn a $200 initial bonus
The Blue Cash Everyday Card offers a $200 statement credit for spending at least $2,000 in the first 6 months. This isn’t the biggest bonus you can find. But it’s certainly not bad, either.
2. 0% intro APR for big-ticket purchases
Blue Cash Everyday offers a 0% intro rate on new purchases for the first 15 months.
If you decide to take advantage of Blue Cash Everyday’s 0% APR, make sure to pay off your balance before the card’s regular APR - 19.24% - 29.99% (V) - takes effect.
3. 0% intro APR for balance transfers
The Blue Cash Everyday card also offers an intro APR of 0% for 15 months on balance transfers made within 60 days of opening an account. For context, the average 0% balance transfer credit card offer is interest-free for 13 months. You should consider the 3% (min $5) balance transfer fee before doing a balance transfer, though.
4. $0 annual fee
The Blue Cash Everyday Amex does not charge an annual fee. So as long as you pay your bill on time and in full each month, you can completely avoid having to pay anything extra.
5. Rewards are best for U.S. supermarkets, U.S. online retail purchases andU.S. gas stations
Amex Blue Cash Everyday gives you 3% cash back on purchases from U.S. supermarkets and U.S. gas stations, up to $6,000 annually in each of these categories. You also get 3% cash back onU.S. online retail purchases (up to $6,000 per year, then 1%).
All other eligible purchases earn you 1% back, slightly below the market average for a rewards card, according to WalletHub’s latest Credit Card Landscape Report. So the more you spend in those bonus categories, the better Blue Cash Everyday will be.It’s also worth noting that the cash back is technically received in the form of “reward dollars” that can be redeemed for statement credits or at Amazon.com checkout. That doesn’t impact anything value-wise, though.
6. APR of 19.24% to 29.99% (V)
The Amex Blue Cash APR is 19.24% to 29.99% (V), which means all new applicants will be assigned a rate from this range based on their overall creditworthiness. For comparison, the average APR among new credit card offers is currently 23.1%.
7. Good credit required
You need at least good credit to get approved for the American Express Blue Cash Everyday Credit Card, so make sure to check your credit score for free on WalletHub before applying.

No, the Amex Blue Cash Everyday card is not a charge card. It's a regular credit card, so it allows you to carry a balance from one month to another.
It is worth noting that the main difference between a charge card and a traditional credit card is that charge cards don't allow you to carry a balance between months, while credit cards do. Both types of cards allow you to buy now and pay later, but charge cards...

American Express is expected to uphold a high standard of care and be recognized as a pinnacle of service. I have never been more disappointed with a company than I have been with American Express. I received an offer in the mail to get one of their cards and thought, why not? The card they gave me had only a $1,000 starting limit, and when I applied to increase it to $5,000 as an initial increment, I was declined. This was perplexing, considering that I have good credit, I never missed a payment on the card, and I make over $120,000 per year. Upon reviewing the report, it stated they couldn't pull my credit score. When I called the agency, they told me there were no issues on their end. Calling Amex again, they instructed me to contact the agency once more because the problem was supposedly with them. After being transferred around five times, they finally told me this. When I explained that the agency had already reviewed my details and there was no freeze or hold on the account, they still insisted it wasn't their responsibility. This is the most disappointing customer service experience I have ever had, and I am beyond disappointed that they would still consider themselves a company worthy of offering the exclusive Black Card. My grandfather had one of these cards, and it is clear that the quality of the company's service must have declined since then, as he had faith in the organization.

I was immediately approved for this card when I applied today. My FICO score, from five cards, is 773 with 3.5 years of history. The newest card is 8 months old with a 100% positive payment history, no derogatory marks, no mortgage or rent, favorable tax status and an annual gross income of $58,600, with utilization always under 10%. My past interactions with Amex weren't so favorable, but that did not pose an issue currently. I was granted a $10,000 limit, which is the highest I have. Over the weekend, I applied for credit with three banks, and Amex was the only one that offered me instant approval.

All three FICO scores well above 800 (two of three Vantage scores w/ TU at 798), $86,500 taxable income ($63K guaranteed), zero debt (or rent), 13-year mortgage fully paid off, three cards over three years old (only inquiries) with $0 balances, no negatives... but still *declined* for this card without a reason provided (AR app not working for over three days now).

Great go to backup card. Never an issue when purchasing online or in person. Customer Service is very helpful when needed. The APR could be better, but inflation caused the hike. I will do best to keep a zero balance every month.

Bait and Switch scam. Nowhere did it tell me that I did not qualify for the 0% interest! Not during the application, not in the confirmation email I received, nowhere. I called AmEx, who made me call back for the resolution, didn't even have the customer service quality to CALL ME. They determined, no, sorry, you get 30% interest on your balance transfer PLUS the fees you've already paid. Not a single card I transferred a balance from was anywhere near that high. I will be using my bonus next month to pay this card off and closing my Am Ex accounts. I've been an Am Ex customer since 2010. They have lost my business for good! On my initial call, the reps were downright rude to me! Explaining the application process and email to me like this was my first time applying for a balance transfer card.

I like the card so far. Gas and groceries are a constant 3%. They offered 0% interest free for 18 months so I was able to put a car repair for my daughter on it which really helped her out. We'll see how much the rewards helped me by the end of the year.
