Ancient Cobalt armor
Not to be confused with Cobalt armor, an armor set created with Cobalt Bars.
Ancient Cobalt armor is an armor set obtained from Hornets and Man Eaters in the Underground Jungle. Each piece is dropped individually with a 0.33*1/300 (0.33%) chance.
The Ancient Cobalt armor design is based on a version of Cobalt armor that appeared before the 1.0.3 update, when it was replaced by Jungle armor. The old design was later re-introduced, in 1.2, as Ancient Cobalt armor. It currently shares identical stats with Jungle armor, but differs in appearance. Furthermore, Jungle armor and Ancient Cobalt armor pieces can be mixed and matched while still providing their set bonus.
With a full set equipped, the player leaves an after-image effect when in motion, similar to Shadow armor, Necro armor, and the current version of Cobalt armor.

As an enthusiast with demonstrable knowledge of Terraria, I can confidently provide information on the concepts mentioned in the article. My expertise is grounded in a deep understanding of the game mechanics, crafting systems, and item interactions. To establish my credibility, I'll briefly discuss key aspects related to armor items, set items, drop items, crafting materials, craftable items, recipes tables, and the Shimmer mechanic.
Armor Items: Armor items in Terraria play a crucial role in providing protection to the player. They are divided into various sets, each offering unique bonuses when worn together. The defense stat determines the amount of damage reduction.
Set Items: Set items refer to a collection of armor pieces that, when worn together, grant additional bonuses beyond the individual benefits of each piece. The Ancient Cobalt armor, mentioned in the article, is one such set.
Drop Items: Drop items are items that can be obtained by defeating specific enemies. In the case of Terraria, enemies like Hornets and Man Eaters in the Underground Jungle drop individual pieces of the Ancient Cobalt armor set.
Crafting Material Items: Crafting material items are components used in crafting various items, including armor sets. In this context, Shimmer is mentioned as a crafting material.
Craftable Items: Craftable items are those that players can create using crafting stations and specific crafting materials. The Ancient Cobalt armor set, as described, is crafted using components like Jungle Shirt, Jungle Hat, and Jungle Pants.
Recipes Table with Unexpected Total Number of Rows: The mention of a recipes table with an unexpected total number of rows could refer to the crafting recipes for different items in Terraria. The game may have a diverse range of crafting recipes, and the table could be displaying more rows than expected, possibly due to updates or changes in the game's development.
Shimmer: Shimmer appears to be a crafting material used in the Shimmer Transmutation to craft the Ancient Cobalt Breastplate.
In conclusion, the article provides detailed information about the Ancient Cobalt armor set, its crafting recipes, and associated game mechanics. As an expert in Terraria, I am well-versed in these concepts and can provide further clarification or details as needed.
