Once you have backed up your old iPhone into iCloud, turn on your new iPhone. Proceed in the setup process and connect the new iPhone to WiFi. In the “Apps & Data” -view, select “Restore from iCloud Backup” and sign in to iCloud. Choose the backup you want to restore and wait for the backup to finish.
Does the iPhone 15 Pro Max have a SIM card? ›iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max use eSIM technology and are not compatible with physical SIM cards.
Can I activate my iPhone 15 myself? ›From the 'Hello' screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to choose a language then tap your country or region. If you have a previous device running iOS 11 or later, use Quick Start to complete auto sign-in. Allow a few moments for the activation process to complete.
Should I set up eSIM on iPhone 15? ›The eSIM offers you the same advantages except that you can combine up to 8 eSIM profiles (or eSIM operators) on one eSIM. In addition, you can for example keep your main line for calls and texts and get an eSIM profile only for mobile data, which is ideal for travelers to save on roaming charges.
What are the disadvantages of an eSIM? ›Limited device compatibility
This limitation can restrict your options if you're not using the latest smartphones and technology. Even if a phone has an eSIM card, that doesn't mean it'll work with every network. At least in the US, you'll find that only the most popular phones are supported by most carriers.
Activating e-SIM:
Android: Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager > Add Mobile Plan > Add using QR code. Google Pixel: Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Add Carrier > Scan QR code.
Choose how you want to transfer your data. If you download from iCloud, your apps and data download in the background so that you can start using your new device right away. If you transfer directly from your previous device, you'll need to wait for the transfer to complete on both devices before you can use them.
What happens to an old iPhone after transfer to a new iPhone? ›When the transfer is complete, your current iPhone shows the Transfer Complete screen and the new iPhone restarts. On your current iPhone, tap Continue. The Erase This iPhone screen appears. Erasing your iPhone disassociates your Apple ID from it and removes your personal data.
Restore from iCloud
The easiest and quickest method to set up your new iPhone is to restore from a recent iCloud backup. As you walk through the initial setup process, tap Restore from iCloud Backup, sign in with your Apple ID and then pick the most recent backup of your old iPhone.
If you purchased an iPhone 14 model or later in the United States, your iPhone doesn't have a SIM tray. Learn how to set up an eSIM instead. Find your model below to locate the SIM tray.
How do I transfer my SIM card to my new iPhone 15? ›Your phone will likely remind you to set up your cellular access, but you can also go to Settings > Cellular and tap Set Up Cellular. Tap Transfer from another iPhone and then select Transfer Number to confirm your choice. On your previous phone, tap Transfer SIM.
How do I activate my new iPhone by myself? ›Activate your iPhone
Turn on your new iPhone and follow the Setup Assistant's onscreen instruction. When prompted, select "Cellular Data Connection" as your type of connection. Activate with Wi-Fi: Login to the Wi-Fi network you want, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Make sure that your iPhone's Privacy Settings for Motion & Fitness are enabled for the iPhone Health app (Navigate to iPhone's Settings > Privacy > Motion & Fitness. The Health app's switch should be green).
Why won't my phone number transfer to my new iPhone 15? ›It can be the basic Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity issue since both are required during the process. Furthermore, there can be issues with your account and cellular plans, or your device might be in an outdated iOS version, which hinders the eSIM transfer process.
