How do I read Azure App Service logs? ›
Access log files
For logs stored in the App Service file system, the easiest way to access the files is to download the ZIP file in the browser at: Linux/custom containers: https://<app-name>.scm.azurewebsites.net/api/logs/docker/zip. Windows apps: https://<app-name>.scm.azurewebsites.net/api/dump.
- For Log Analytics workspace: Go to the Azure Monitor menu or the Log Analytics workspaces menu and choose "Logs."
- For Application Insights application: Go to the Application Insights menu for the specific application and select "Logs."
Open Log Analytics
If you select Logs from an Azure resource's menu, the scope is set to only records from that resource. For details about the scope, see Log query scope. You can view the scope in the upper-left corner of the Logs experience, below the name of your active query tab.
- In the Azure portal, open the app in App Services.
- Select Diagnose and solve problems.
- Select the Diagnostic Tools heading.
- Under Support Tools, select the Application Events button.
- Examine the latest error provided by the IIS AspNetCoreModule or IIS AspNetCoreModule V2 entry in the Source column.
To view activity log insights at the resource group or subscription level: In the Azure portal, select Monitor > Workbooks. In the Insights section, select Activity Logs Insights.
