Tool Quick-Changing
Pressing left or right on the D-Pad will let you quickly change from one tool to the next. Pressing down will put the equipped tool away.

Take a Picture
Press both L + R to snap a picture. The image will be saved to your SD card, allowing you to transfer it to another device or upload it to the internet.
Om Nom Nom
No fish will nibble more than four times. If they reach four, they will always bite on the fifth approach. Get ready to hit that "A" button!
Storage Locker
Early in the game, you won't have much space. Drop by the Train Station and use the locker to access your personal storage. You can store up to 180 items here. They'll be accessible from your house later once you get a dresser, or you can find them in the locker of any other towns you might visit, too.
Extra Pockets
You can carry 10 letters with you, accessible from the letter icon. Since each letter can hold one gift, you can use these for extra space (though you can't attach living creatures). Just drag an item onto an empty letter. To get it back, tap the letter and choose "Present". The one drawback is that you won't be able to see what's what while they're attached.
Extra Storage
Attach items to letters and save up to 180 of them at the Post Office. Better yet, mail one to yourself, writing the name of the object you're attaching: it will make things much easier to find once stored!
Item Stacking
Certain items like money and fruit can be combined to save pocket space! Either drag them together with the touch screen or hold A to move one on top of the other. A number will appear in the lower right corner to signal the stack.

Deal in Bulk
When selling or donating, you can select multiple items to give at once. Use the A button or tap them on the touch screen to select everything you want, then submit.
Who's Home?
If you see smoke coming from a chimney, or light is showing through their front door, someone's inside, and awake!
Find a Building
If you are not sure of villagers home, then click the yellow arrow bar beside the map and it should come up with names, Click on the villager you want to find the house for and you will see a house flashing on the map, or you can tap the house or read the sign next to their door by clicking A near it to see who the house belongs to!
