Can you block buyers with 0 feedback? ›

No, you can't automatically block members with 0 feedback because EVERYONE starts at 0. You can start selling with cheaper, simpler to ship items so you minimize your risk of loss until you build up a reputation and sell higher priced items safely.

You cannot block 0 feedback buyers - we all started at "0".

When you place a buyer on your block list, it blocks them from buying from you. There is no block to prevent buyers from leaving feedback.

Tick the box next to “Only set this requirement to block buyers with a feedback score” and choose a score that works for you. For example, if you select “5” then only someone with a feedback score of six or more can buy multiple items from you.

On eBay, blocking a buyer simply means preventing that buyer from buying and bidding on your items. This doesn't mean that the buyer will automatically be blocked from seeing your items and contacting you, however. Blocking a buyer ensures that they will no longer be able to purchase any of your listed items.

If you don't want them to contact you, select Don't allow blocked buyers to contact you in Site Preferences (they may still be able to get in touch with you if it's about an existing transaction). To have these settings apply to all active and future listings, select Apply above settings to active and future listings.

You can say whatever you want in your listings, but that would be unenforceable if a zero-fb member actually wins your auction. You would get a defect point for canceling the transaction.

They won't know they are blocked, unless you have told them, until they go to bid or buy. Then they receive a message that states, This seller is not accepting bids from you.

Sellers can't block buyers with 0 feedback. There is no global block, but as happened to the OP, the seller can cancel their bid and then add them to the BBL.

Blocking A Buyer

To block buyers with low feedback, go into my eBay and seller preferences and go to the blocked buyers list. Then you can go into buyer requirements and stop those with five feedback or less from being able to contact you.

If a member has violated one of our feedback policies, you can ask us to have it removed. Once we review it, we may remove the entire feedback, or just the element that violates the policy, i.e. the comment, image or rating.

Even if you don't review your buyer back, their review will still eventually show up on your profile. Once an order is marked as complete, a buyer will have 10 days to leave their review. Once both seller and buyer have completed their reviews, or the 10 days have passed, all posted reviews are made public.

You might need to block a buyer if they are always bidding on your items and then canceling their bids, because it wastes your time. Interactions with them are always negative or abusive. If a buyer is constantly verbally abusive, or if interactions with them are always difficult, you should block them.

Sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers. The way to report them is to cancel the transaction after 4 days of non-payment have passed, specifying that "buyer didn't pay". That will alert Ebay and it will be recorded on the buyer's record. All unpaid items are recorded on a buyer's account.

eBay sellers have control over who can bid on and buy their items. You can block individual buyers or set buyer requirements based on specific criteria.
