Can I request a stop payment on a transaction in my Stash banking account? (2024)

Yes, you can request a stop payment for incoming transactions on your Stash banking account. You can request a stop payment via phone. If you’d like to request a stop payment, please give us a call at 800-205-5164 from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. ET Monday-Friday, or email us at support@stash.com.

If you haven’t contacted the merchant already, we recommend that you contact the merchant first to directly request a stop payment; usually that will be a quicker resolution. But if you aren’t able to work with the merchant, we can definitely help you with your stop payment request.

Stop payment requests must be made at least three business days in advance of the scheduled payment day. There are no fees for a stop payment. Stop payments are not guaranteed—see the Deposit Account Agreement for details. Keep in mind that if the transaction has already been completed on your account, you will not be able to request a stop payment for that transaction.
