Last Friday's chart quiz was a doozy! Roula Khalaf, the Editor of the FT, set the bar high, and it seems no one could reach the top. The quiz left even the regulars scratching their heads, with not a single soul managing to answer all three charts correctly.
But here's where it gets controversial... or at least, a little unexpected. The first chart, Polymarket's prediction market on a potential US government shutdown in 2025, had many stumped. Yet, one brave soul managed to decipher it, getting two charts right! Impressive, right?
Chart two, depicting the STOXX 600 Europe Index by industry, with a focus on the 'technology' sector, was a bit more straightforward. A simple pop-up helped identify the other sectors, but it still managed to evade most contestants.
And this is the part most people miss: Chart three was a real head-scratcher. It showcased South Africa's unemployment rate, a statistic that might not be on everyone's radar. But it's an important indicator, and one that many overlooked.
