CATL Unveils Middle East's Largest New Energy After-Sales Service Center in Riyadh
The world's largest electric vehicle (EV) battery maker, Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL), has opened a state-of-the-art after-sales service center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking a significant milestone in its regional expansion. This facility, named the 'Ning Service Experience Center', is the first of its kind in the Middle East and currently the largest outside China.
Spanning over 7,000 square meters, the center is designed to provide comprehensive after-sales support for the rapidly growing EV and energy storage markets in the region. This move aligns with CATL's global strategy to establish a robust after-sales service network, as evidenced by the opening of its first experience center in Chengdu, China, in August 2024.
The Ning Service Experience Center in Riyadh features exhibition areas, diagnostic and maintenance zones, refurbishment facilities, training spaces, and customer lounges, offering a full range of services including battery maintenance, health checks, and mobile assistance. This comprehensive approach mirrors CATL's after-sales service brand, Ning Service, which has already certified over 9,700 professionals worldwide through partnerships with vocational institutions.
The opening of this center comes at a pivotal time for Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, as they strive to achieve ambitious electrification and decarbonization goals. Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, for instance, aims to convert 30% of vehicles in Riyadh to EVs by 2030, contributing to a 50% reduction in carbon emissions in the capital. However, the region faces challenges such as oil dependency, rising electricity demand, and a lack of charging and service infrastructure.
Bruce Li, President of the Quality System, Aftermarket Business, and Battery Management System Department at CATL, emphasized the company's commitment to expanding its after-sales service network across the Middle East, aligning with regional development goals. CATL's global leadership in EV battery shipments, with 400 GWh installed and a 38.2% market share from January to November 2025, positions it as a key player in the region's transition to sustainable transportation.
CATL's partnership with Nio focuses on joint development of long-life batteries and battery swap compatibility technologies, further enhancing its position in the EV market. As the company continues to expand its global footprint, the new after-sales service center in Riyadh is a testament to CATL's dedication to providing exceptional customer support and driving the adoption of sustainable energy solutions in the Middle East.
