What is Certified Mail?

Certified Mail - What Are The Benefits (5)Certified mail is a delivery service through the USPS in which the sender receives a certificate indicating a letter or package has been sent and the recipient gives their signature when it has been delivered or that a delivery attempt was made.

The signature proof of delivery record is not automatically mailed back to the sender with this service, however, signature proof can be requested at the time of mailing by purchasing the Return Receipt Electronic (see below). The signature proof can also be requested after the mailing by purchasing the Return Receipt After Mailing service for an additional fee.

Return Receipt with Signature PDF

This is the same service as Electronic Delivery Confirmation but includes the Return Receipt Electronic PDF that provides the sender with proof of delivery. This information includes the recipient’s signature and actual delivery address.
