Changing your subscription plan and billing frequency

Stash makes it easy to upgrade or downgrade your subscription plan at any time from the app or web. Stash offers two subscription plans: Stash Growth ($3/month) and Stash Plus ($9/month).

We also offer two billing frequencies for your convenience: monthly and yearly. You can change the billing frequency of your subscription plan from the app or the web whenever you need to.

Follow these steps to change your subscription plan:

In the app:

  1. Click here to navigate to the Subscription plan page.
  2. Tap Change next to Your plan.
  3. Tap the blue Change plan button under the plan you want to change to (you may need to scroll down).
  4. Follow the prompts to change your plan.

On the web:

  1. Click here to navigate to the Subscription page.
  2. Click Manage next to Your plan.
  3. Click the Change subscription button under the plan you want to change to.
  4. Follow the prompts to change your plan.

Examples:

Monthly plan change:

  • Upgrade: Your billing cycle renews on the 5th of each month. On the 20th, you upgrade your plan from Stash Growth ($3/month) to Stash Plus ($9/month). You’ll instantly receive access to the Stash Plus plan. You’ll receive an invoice on the 21st charging you for a full month of Stash Plus from the 21st to the 20th. You’ll also receive a prorated credit for the 21st-4th for the unused time of your Stash Growth plan.
  • Downgrade: Your billing cycle renews on the 5th of each month. On the 20th, you downgrade your plan from Stash Plus ($9/month) to Stash Growth ($3/month). You’ll still have full access to your Stash Plus plan until the 5th of the next month, at which point the downgrade will go into effect and you’ll be billed for a full month of Stash Growth.

Yearly plan change:

  • Upgrades: Your billing cycle renews on June 5th of each year. On December 1st, you upgrade your plan from Stash Growth to Stash Plus. The plan change will take effect immediately so you’ll have full access to the features of Stash Plus. You’ll receive a new invoice on December 2nd which will credit the unused time on your Stash Growth plan and charge you a full year for the Stash Plus plan. Your yearly billing cycle will reset to December 2nd-December 1st.
  • Downgrades: Your billing cycle renews on June 5th of each year. On December 15th, you downgrade your plan from Stash Plus to Stash Growth. You’ll still have full access to your Stash Plus plan until January 4th. On January 5th, you’ll be downgraded to Stash Growth. You’ll receive a credit for the unused time on Stash Plus, and you’ll be billed for the remaining time for your Stash Growth plan after this credit is used.

Change Billing Frequency

Follow these steps to change your billing frequency:

In the app:

  1. Click here to navigate to the Subscription plan page.
  2. Tap Change next to Billing frequency.
  3. Tap Yearly or Monthly, then tap Continue.
  4. Follow the prompts to change your plan.

On the web:

  1. Click here to navigate to the Subscription page.
  2. Click Manage next to Billing frequency.
  3. Click Yearly or Monthly, then click Continue.
  4. Follow the prompts to change your plan.

Monthly to yearly: When you switch from a monthly cycle to a yearly cycle, we’ll start your yearly billing at the beginning of your next billing cycle.

  • For example: Your monthly billing period is from the 5th to the 4th. On the 15th you change to a yearly billing cycle. On the 5th of the next month we’ll bill you the full amount for your yearly subscription.

Yearly to monthly: When you switch from a yearly plan to a monthly plan, we’ll give you a prorated credit for the remaining months on your yearly subscription.

  • For example: Your yearly billing cycle is from September 5th-September 4th. On February 25th, you change to a monthly billing cycle. The next day (February 26th), we’ll give you a prorated credit for the remaining months on your annual plan, and you’ll receive a monthly invoice for February 26th-March 25th.
