Sally Lindsay is leading the cast for Channel 5's latest thriller Love Rat starting on Channel 5 tonight, Monday, March 11. The four-part series sees a recently divorced woman fall in love with a stranger abroad - only for her to discovering he isn't who he is claiming to be.
Love Rat, which starts at 9pm tonight, stars Lindsay as Emma, a recent divorcee, who heads off to Cyprus following her split from ex Pete, played by Neil Morrisey. While there she meets Niko in a whirlwind holiday romance and he soon disappears with part of her life savings.
Love Rat is set to air on Channel 5 for consecutive nights this week and will also be available to stream. Here's all we know so far about the Channel 5 thriller.

When is Love Rat on and how many episodes?
Love Rat is on Channel 5 with the first episode airing at 9pm on Monday, March 11. There will be four episodes as part of the new series.
Love Rat will then air on consecutive nights at 9pm. The final episode will air on Channel 5 on Thursday, March 14.

Viewers can watch Love Rat on Channel 5 on four consecutive nights - from Monday, March 11, through to Thursday, March 14. Each episode will air at the same time each night, at 9pm.

Who stars in Love Rat? Full cast list
Love Rat stars Sally Lindsay as Emma. Lindsay has most recently been seen in Channel 5's The Madame Blanc Mysteries as Jean White. She has also appeared in Sky's Mount Pleasant and Channel 5's thriller Cold Call. Sally previously played Shelley Unwin in Coronation Street and appeared in her friend Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights series.
Speaking about Love Rat, Sally said: "When I read the scripts, I was really engaged by the story and by the character. The script was so clever in the way Emma is emotionally manipulated into acting the way she does.
"She has a level of vulnerability because she'd been through this horrific divorce, and I didn’t see what was coming in the script. I found that fascinating and it’s great for the audience."
Emma's ex-husband is played by Neil Morrissey. Earlier this year Morrissey starred in Channel 5's metal detecting drama Finders Keepers. You'll have also seen him before in the likes of Men Behaving Badly, The Good Karma Hospital, Line of Duty and, of course, as the well known voice of children's character, Bob the Builder.
While Emma's holiday romance Niko is played by Gerald Kyd. Kyd played Sean Maddox in Casualty between 1998 and 2006. Here's the full cast list for Love Rat:

What is Love Rat about?
Love Rat follows recently divorced Emma, played by Sally Lindsay, as she enjoys a whirlwind holiday romance with handsome hotel proprietor Niko, played by Gerald Kyd, in Cyprus. Emma has recently divorced her ex-husband Pete and is estranged from her daughter, Susie.
Niko sweeps Emma off her feet and when he suggests she move into a villa with him, Emma makes the huge decision to turn her back on her life in the UK. When Niko says he needs a short-term loan to complete the villa purchase, Emma happily lends him money from her life savings.
But Emma soon discovers everything is not as it seems as Niko, and her money, disappear. She embarks on a mission to find Nico and her money, aided by her ex-husband Pete, played by Neil Morrissey.
Where was Love Rat filmed?
Love Rat was filmed on location in Cyprus in 2022. Cyprus is the third largest and third most populous island in the Mediterranean.
It is located to the east of Greece, north of Egypt and south of Turkey. Cyprus' capital and largest city is Nicosia.
As reported by i News, the Cyprus Film Commissioner said Love Rat was the first British TV series to be filmed in Cyprus. While local media reported that the show's product company spent about £1.15 million within the country, including taxes to the Cypriot government.
You can fly to either of Cyprus' airports in Paphos or Larnarca from Birmingham Airport from as little as £160 one-way according to travel website Skyscanner this week. Love Rat starts on Channel 5 on March 11 at 9pm and runs consecutive nights until the final episode on Thursday, March 14.
