I dislike how conservative it is here. Moving away for college was amazing, and I can't wait to move away when I graduate. The only thing I will miss is my family. I also hate how we keep developing more neighborhoods but no industries. There's absolutely nothing to do here. Chesapeake is classified as a bedroom community because of how much housing there is and how few jobs there are. It isn't just jobs, though, there's nothing to do for fun. You can only go to the farms so many times before they get old. There's also no good food. So no matter what, you have to travel to Norfolk or Virginia Beach for good food, entertainment, activities, or work. Not to mention if you're not a Trump supporter you're going to get sick and tired of all of the Trump supporters in Chesapeake.

Chesapeake has been great to grow up in. The community is very friendly and everyone is helpful. The families look out for each other. I enjoy the holidays because most of the families and neighbors go all out and support one another. The only thing, I would like more of is for the sidewalks to be upgraded along the neighborhood streets.

Chesapeake is boring and ugly, expensive with old infrastructure, crooked politicians, and mid schools. Something is wrong with the entire Hampton Roads area, in general. But compared to Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, it's dreamy. Virginia Beach is ok - still an old, crowded, overpriced boxy suburb in the guise of a city. Newport News is nicer to look at with more amenities but smells like Mary J and felonies. Like all of Hampton Roads, it is crime-ridden. All the schools are terrible in Hampton Roads, really. I think Virginia hit it's peak in the 90s. To add insult to injury there's loads of litter. People just fling their trash on homeowners lawns as they drive or walk by. Wages are not equivalent to cost of living. They're quite low. For anything nicer head the central route. Northern VA is newer with more amenities, but outrageously expensive and overcrowded. Better yet, drive through Virginia but don't stay.
