How many concierge key members are there? ›

American Airlines understandably hasn't revealed how many Concierge Key members there are, so the best we can do is speculate. If I had to guess, I'd say there are somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000 Concierge Key members. To be more exact, my assumption is that the number is roughly in the middle of that range.

Concierge Key is the status that American Airlines gives to its top spending customers and top corporate travel influencers. It became legendary when George Clooney was portrayed as a Concierge Key member on a quest to earn 10 million miles in Up In The Air.

If you're trying to attain ConciergeKey as a regular traveler, you're likely looking at spending north of $50,000 and flying more than 200,000 miles annually. The more premium cabin travel you book and the more you fly true American Airlines metal, the better shot you have.

American Airlines' Concierge Key is an elite status program for top-tier customers who spend at least $50,000 a year and fly over 200,000 miles (though these aren't hard-and-fast requirements).

There are four American Airlines status levels: Gold (40,000 loyalty points), Platinum (75,000 loyalty points), Platinum Pro (125,000 loyalty points) and Executive Platinum (200,000).

ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived. ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum.

Historically it might take around $60,000 in spend mostly on premium cabin tickets to qualify for ConciergeKey status, although that's never guaranteed (and seems to be the case that customers in smaller markets may not have to spend as much as someone based in, say, Dallas).

Customers who are eligible to access the Flagship^® Lounge as a result of their ConciergeKey status are permitted to bring their immediate family (spouse, domestic partner and/or children under eighteen (18) or up to two (2) guests. All other qualifying customers are not permitted to bring guests.

There are 50,000 – 60,000 Executive Platinum top tier American AAdvantage members.

Upon earning one million (1,000,000) Million Miler™ miles, AAdvantage® members will be vested with AAdvantage Gold® status for the lifetime of the AAdvantage Gold® program and 35,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles. AAdvantage® bonus miles do not count toward qualifying for AAdvantage® status or the Million Miler™ program.

ConciergeKey members enjoy the highest priority on upgrade, standby and waitlists for flights. For upgrades, ConciergeKey members clear before Executive Platinum members if space is available.
