Who are the best available college basketball prospects in the transfer portal?

The college basketball transfer portal has been open a little more than a week, and more than 1,700 players have already entered as the record-setting pace continues. 247Sports released its initial transfer rankings Wednesday, highlighting the top players on the move. Former UAB star Yaxel Lendeborg headlines the list at No. 1 and is expected to be a high-impact addition if he chooses to remain in college for another year.

Nine of the 20 highest-rated college basketball transfers have already committed elsewhere for the 2025-26 season, but plenty of elite talent remains as teams continue shaping their rosters for the upcoming campaign. Notable names continue to enter the transfer portal as well as the current 30-day window extends until Tuesday, April 22. The sheer volume of talent on the move reflects the growing influence of the portal.

So, who are the top-rated college basketball transfers that remain available after the initial rankings release?

Below is a closer look at the 10 best available college basketball transfers and which teams are in the mix for their talents (as of 12:50 p.m. ET Wednesday, April 2):

1. Yaxel Lendeborg, PF, UAB

There is a new No. 1 atop the first college basketball transfer portal rankings for the 2025 cycle with UAB star Yaxel Lendeborg taking the top spot. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound do-it-all forward expects to to be a high-impact addition if he remains in college rather than departing for the 2025 NBA Draft. Lendeborg spent the past two seasons at UAB after transferring from Arizona Westernat the JUCO level. He averaged 17.7 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.8 blocks per gamethis past season, shooting 52.2% from the field, including 35.7% from beyond the 3-point arc. There are a number of high-major programs lining up for a chance to land the prized transfer, includingArkansas, Auburn, BYU, Georgetown, Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan and Ole Miss, according to Brandon Jenkins.

2. RJ Luis Jr., SG, St. John's

Big East Player of the Year and St. John's star RJ Luis Jr. entered both the transfer portaland the 2025 NBA Draft this past weekend with one year of eligibility remaining. The 6-foot-7, 215-pound wing started 32 games this season for the Red Storm, averaging 18.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 43.9% from the field and 33.6% from 3-point range. Luis was benched for the final five minutes of the season-ending loss to No. 10 seed Arkansas in the second round of the NCAA Tournament back in March, but received support and well wishesfrom former coach Rick Pitino upon his decision to move on from St. John's.

3. Ja'Kobi Gillespie, PG, Maryland

The roster rebuilding process is underway at Maryland fresh off the hire of new coach Buzz Williams. Starting point guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie is among those Terrapins in the transfer portal and is already trending toward a move to Tennessee. The 6-foot-1, 186-pound junior averaged 14.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game this season as part of the "Crab Five." Gillespie shot 45.3% from the field and 40.7% from 3-point range.

4. Silas Demary Jr., CG, Georgia

Silas Demary Jr. visited St. John's on Monday before meeting with coach Dan Hurley and UConnon Tuesday, according to Travis Branham. Kentucky also reportedly conducted an in-home visit with him over the weekend. The 6-foot-5 guard, a two-year starter forGeorgia and one of the most dependable point guards in the SEC, averaged 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game this season while shooting 37.4% from 3-point range.

5. Keyshawn Hall, PF, UCF

Transfer portal rating:4-star | 97 rating | No. 10 overall

UCF leading scorer Keyshawn Hall will go through the pre-NBA Draft process but is also in the transfer portal as one of the top available prospects. The 6-foot-7, 235-pound power forward averaged 18.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.5 blocks per game this past season with the Knights after transferring in from George Mason. This is the third time Hall has entered the transfer portal after beginning his college career at UNLV. There is a long list ofsuitors for Hall, includingArizona State,Arkansas,Auburn,Baylor,LSU,Kansas,Miami,Missouri,Oklahoma State,Ole Miss,SMU,,UCF,USCandWashington, according to Brandon Jenkins.

6. Tucker DeVries, SF, West Virginia

There is no secret surrounding the next move for Tucker DeVries. After transferring to West Virginia last season to play under his father, Darian DeVries, he is widely expected to follow him again to Indiana, where Darian was recently named head coach. His 2024-25 season was cut short after just eight games due to a right shoulder injury. A two-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, the 6-foot-7 guard has compiled career averages of 17.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists over 112 games.

7. Josh Dix, SG, Iowa

Josh Dixled the exodus of transfers coming out ofIowafollowing the head coaching change — but there remains a chance he returns to the Hawkeyes. The 6-foot-6,210-pound versatile guard was one of the most efficient scorers in the Big Ten this season, connecting on 50.7% of his field goal attempts — sixth-best in the conference. Dix averaged 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 42.2% from 3-point range. The junior rated as a three-star recruit coming out of high school and ranked as the No. 1 prospect in Iowa for the 2022 class.

8. Isaac McKneely, SG, Virginia

The new era ofVirginiabasketball will begin without junior guardIsaac McKneely. The6-foot-4 shooter led the Cavaliers in scoring this past season with 14.4 points per game and ranked first in the ACC in 3-point percentage (42.1), second in 3-pointers made per game (3.2) and eighth in minutes per game (34.4). He earned All-ACC honorable mention this season as well. Although a return to Virginia is not off the table, it appears to be down to a two-team race between Louisville and Tennessee, which is set to host McKneely prior to the dead period.

9. Flory Bidunga, C, Kansas

Transfer portal rating:4-star | 96 rating | No. 16 overall

Flory Bidunga is the top-rated big man in the college basketball transfer portal. The former Kansas center posted 5.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game while backing up veteran Hunter Dickinson. Although a possible return to the Jayhawks is on the table, there are three high-major programs leading the list of contenders for Bidunga, who was a five-star prospect coming out of Kokomo (Ind.).

10. Rodney Rice, SG, Maryland

Rodney Rice is on the list of Maryland players in the transfer portal after the departure of coach Kevin Willard and subsequent hire of Buzz Williams. Rice spent just one season with the Terrapins after transferring in from Virginia Tech. He averaged 13.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 43.4% from the floor and 37.4% from 3-point range. There is a massive list of teams that have been in contact with Rice already, but there is still an outside shot he returns to Maryland.
