Ian ‘Chrysania” Chin has violated the Riot Games Terms of Use and Rule 7.2.9 of the VALORANT Global Competition Policy for conspiring to provide commercial boosting services and will be suspended for four (4) months.
CONTEXT
All VALORANT players must abide by the Riot Games Terms of Use (“ToS”). Section 7 of the ToS highlights any activity intended to “boost” an account’s status or rank as an activity that may warrant disciplinary measure. Rule 7.2.9 of the VALORANT Global Competition Policy prohibits matchmaking ranking/rating (MMR) boosting. Among other specifically prohibited behaviors, Rule 7.2.9 prohibits a player from entering a financial arrangement with another player to queue together in order to increase the MMR of either player’s account or Riot ID.
Chrysania participated in creating a commercial boosting service that would facilitate financial arrangements between customers of the boosting service and a group of players in order to boost the MMR of the customers’ account. Chrysania planned to promote the commercial boosting service using a Singapore based selling application that is used to market a range of goods and services across Singapore and eastern Asia.
RULING
Ian ‘Chrysania” Chin conspired to create and promote a commercial boosting service that offered financial arrangements for MMR boosting. This is a violation of Rule 7.5 and Rule 7.2.9 of the VALORANT Global Competition policy. Chrysania is banned from any association or affiliation with a team in a Riot-sanctioned competition for 4 months, beginning from January 28, 2022.

7.5.Terms of Use
Any conduct that (a) violates the Terms of Use for VALORANT; (b) violates any guidelines, or any policy posted on the official websites or social media accounts for VALORANT; or (c) interferes with use or enjoyment of VALORANT by others is prohibited and a violation of this Global Policy.
7.2.9Prohibited Matchmaking Ranking/Rating Boosting
Behavior that circumvents the matchmaking rules of the VALORANT Competitive Matchmaking mode in order to increase the Matchmaking Ranking/Rating (MMR) of a Player’s account or Riot ID. Prohibited behavior includes:
(a) A player allowing access to the player’s account or Riot ID by another player in order to increase the MMR of the player’s account or Riot ID;
(b) A player accessing another player’s account or Riot ID in order to increase the MMR of the other player’s account or Riot ID;
(c) A player entering a financial arrangement with another player to queue together in order to increase the MMR of either player’s account or Riot ID;
(d) A player repeatedly queueing with another player that has been identified as an active cheater in the VALORANT Competitive Matchmaking mode.
