What are the different types of Cookie Run: Kingdom cookies?

If you’re checking out our Cookie Run: Kingdom tier list as a newcomer, it’s also a good idea to get your head around the different types of cookies. After all, certain types might suit your playstyle more than others, so you can check out all the options in the table below.

Cookie typeExplanation
AmbushAmbush cookies move fast, and while they might have low defense and HP stats, their attack stats and movement speed make them ideal for taking out isolated enemies.
BomberBomber cookies are similar to magic cookies except they take a little longer to charge their abilities and they’re often limited to attacks that deal damage in a large area.
ChargeAlongside defense cookies, charge cookies are best placed leading the line, dealing out massive damage, and handling crowds. Charge cookies also often have solid HP, so they don’t die instantly while heading out at the front.
DefenseDefense cookies are this game’s version of tanks, and they’re best at leading the line and soaking up damage. Some have taunt abilities, so you can draw in enemies while providing magic and ranged cookies space to attack.
HealingHealing cookies are pretty self-explanatory. These support units keep other cookies from leaving the battle prematurely, but they don’t have much to offer in terms of firepower.
MagicMagic cookies are probably the most popular as their spells can range from multiple quickfire hits to creating AoE effects that deal out continuous damage. They can also occupy different positions on the field, with some magic cookies capable of leading from the front, while some dish out damage-dealing spells from the back.
RangedIf you want to keep your distance from enemies, ranged cookies are a safe bet. Whether it’s with a gun or a crossbow, these cookies deal solid damage from the back of the field, and you can pair them up with a defense cookie to keep them in the game for as long as possible.
SupportSupport cookies can buff the attack and defense of their fellow fighters, or even nerf opponents. They’re not the most devastating in battle, but can still look after themselves better than most healers.

How do we choose the best Cookie Run: Kingdom characters?

Our Cookie Run: Kingdom tier list combines our own experience in the game and online data pointing to which characters see the most play. As you can see from the tier list further up the page, there are plenty of characters worthy of the S+ tier, but Fettuccine Cookie might be the best of the best in the current version of the game. Of course, that could change with future updates, so be sure to bookmark this page for the latest.

When do new Cookie Run: Kingdom characters arrive?

New Cookie Run: Kingdom characters tend to arrive every few months courtesy of an in-game update or an event. For example, the latest character, Wind Archer Cookie, came to the game alongside the Wind, Piercer of Darkness update in September 2024.

However, it takes a while for us to add new characters to our Cookie Run: Kingdom tier list, as we have to unlock them and put them through their paces in-game first. So, if you’ve got a new cookie who isn’t on our list yet, be sure to check back soon!
