Which countries does Apple Pay support? ›

Yes, Apple Pay^® or Google Pay^TM payment solutions are available outside of Canada at vendors that accept contactless payments.

What region are you in? Apple Pay is only available in certain regions. Also check the card that you have added to your Wallet is in the same region. Check the region on your phone at Settings > General > Language & Region.

Can I use Apple Pay abroad? Apple Pay works in countries and regions that support contactless payments. Confirm with your bank, and ask about any fees they may charge for overseas usage.

Apple Pay allows you to make payments in offline mode (when you're unable to use your data or Wi-Fi), or during a call.

Apple Pay only transmits encrypted data between merchant and bank and back to merchant. Neither your iPhone nor Apple has the key to decrypt the data.

Walmart isn't the only holdout on accepting Apple Pay, though. Home Depot partnered with PayPal, and now doesn't accept either Apple Pay or Google Wallet. Arby's, Applebees, and Hobby Lobby also don't accept Apple Pay.

In Japan, use Apple Pay wherever you see the EMV Contactless symbol. If you have one of the logos below, you can also pay with Apple Pay. Make sure to tell the staff which card you want to pay with at checkout.

Apple Pay doesn't charge you any foreign transaction fee when you make a mobile payment using its service². However, if your card issuer or bank levies a foreign transaction fee, this will still apply — which means that there may still be a cost when you shop online or in person using Apple Pay.
