Can Moodle see if you switch tabs? ›

Nope! Moodle can't see what you're doing in other tabs while you're taking a quiz.

The Courses block lists and allows navigation between all of the courses in which the logged in user is enrolled in. The block title shows as "My courses" and allows one-click access to a course's home page.

Don't use your web browser's forward and back buttons — use the Next Page and Previous Page buttons or the links in the Quiz Navigation box instead. Don't worry about losing your work. Moodle autosaves every minute so that your answers aren't lost if you accidentally close the window or lose a connection.

Moodle tracks user activity, including when students log in, access course materials, submit assignments, and take quizzes. Unusual or suspicious patterns of activity can be flagged for further investigation.

The teacher may allow the student to go back into a completed quiz to see the quiz pages, questions, the student answers, the correct answer and the score the student received on each question. The teacher can also see each student's quiz.

Course logs in Moodle provide teachers the ability to monitor when and which resources or activities students have accessed. It enables them to track if a specific student has engaged with a certain resource or participated in a specific activity.

In April of 2023, Copyleaks, a well-known plagiarism detection service, partnered with Moodle to allow for AI-generated text detection through its scanning service. According to its own website, the Copyleaks and Moodle integration can detect: AI-generated content, including content created by ChatGPT and Google Bard.

The short answer is NO. By default, Moodle does not actively monitor or notify instructors if a student engages in screen splitting during an assessment. However, there are some nuances to consider: Test Setup: Depending on how the test is configured, Moodle can prevent simultaneous access to multiple Moodle sessions.

Within some university and college programs, a block class may mean taking one class for the duration of each day until the material is covered. Block scheduling refers to a more concentrated experiences of course material, with fewer classes daily. They can cover more course content with fewer interruptions.

The restrict access feature enables teachers to restrict the availability of any activity or even a course section according to certain conditions such as dates, grade obtained, group or activity completion. If more than one access restriction is set for an activity, students see a Show more/less dropdown.

Can you hide courses on Moodle? ›

Log into Moodle and open the course you wish to hide. Choose Settings. Set Course Visibility to Hide (invisible to students, even if enrolled) or Show (visible).

If you are unsure about a question, you can flag the quiz question to mark it as one you need to return to later. Once you have flagged a quiz question, you will see a red flag icon beside that question. This allows you to easily return to flagged quiz questions once you have responded to all remaining questions.

Moodle proctoring is a quizaccess plugin to capture the user's picture via webcam to identify who is attempting the Moodle Quiz. It will capture the picture automatically every 30 seconds and store it as a PNG image. It also captures the screenshot during the quiz.

The default options provided are: Present, Absent, Late & Excused. Instructors can download the attendance for their course in Excel format or text format. Sessions can also be configured to allow students to record their own attendance and a range of different reports are available.

View Quiz results

To view the results once students have taken the quiz, you can either: Select the “Results” tab on the navigation bar of the Moodle Quiz and ensure the “Grades” option is selected from the dropdown menu.

For the Moodle Proctoring (Webcam) tool to function, you need to provide camera & screen sharing permissions. Once you have provided the permissions you will see your picture and will then be able to complete the Quiz assessment. If you do not give permission, you will not be able to complete the Quiz assessment.
