Apple’s Rapid Security Response lets you manage your macOS and iOS devices by automatically installing new Rapid Security Response updatesas they become available. If you allow the updates to be installed, you can also prevent users from removing the installed updates. Alternatively, you can disable Rapid Security Responses so that updates are not automatically installed.
JumpCloud provides two policies to configure Rapid Security Response:
- Mac Rapid Security Response – For macOS devices running macOS 13 Ventura and later.
- iOS Rapid Security Response – For supervised iOS 16 and iPadOS 16and later.

To create a macOS or iOS Rapid Security Response policy:
- Log in to the JumpCloud Admin Portal.
- Go toDEVICE MANAGEMENT > Policy Management.
- In theAlltab, click (+).
- On the New Policy panel, select theMacoriOStab.
- Select theManage Rapid Security Response Policyfrom the list, then clickconfigure.
- Under Manage Rapid Security Response, select Allow users to install Rapid Security Response updates to allow users to accept prompts to download and install minor security fixes from Apple on their devices. If you don’t select this field, users will not be able to install Rapid Security Response updates.
- (Optional) If you select Allow users to install Rapid Security Response updates, you can also select Prevent removal of Rapid Security Response updates to stop users from removing minor updates that were installed on their devices.
- (Optional) Select theDevice Groupstab. Select one or more device groups where you’ll apply this policy. For device groups with multiple OS member types, the policy is applied only to the supported OS.
- (Optional) Select theDevicestab. Select one or more devices where you’ll apply this policy.
- Clicksave.
- If prompted, click save again.
