You must create a primary iCloud email address on your iPhone, iPad, iPodtouch, Mac or iCloud.com before you can use iCloudMail. For an overview of what you can do with Mail and iCloud, see Send and receive iCloudMail on all your devices and keep Mail settings up to date.
If you already have an @icloud.com (or an @me.com or @mac.com) email address, see Set up iCloudMail on all your devices.
About iCloudMail address suggestions
When you create a primary iCloud email address, you can choose from suggestions based on your AppleID and name. You can also edit the suggested address to whatever you would like, as long as it is more than three characters and currently available.
Note: You cannot rename your primary iCloudMail email address later. If you change your mind, you can add an email alias instead.
Create a primary iCloudMail address on your iPhone, iPad or iPodtouch
On your iPhone, iPad or iPodtouch, go to Settings> [yourname]> iCloud.
Tap iCloudMail (or Mail), then follow the onscreen instructions.
If you do not see onscreen instructions after turning on iCloudMail on your iPhone, iPad or iPodtouch, you already have a primary iCloud email address.
Create a primary iCloudMail address on your Mac
On your Mac, do one of the following:
macOS13.3 or later: Choose Applemenu > System Settings, click [your name] at the top of the sidebar, then click iCloud. Below Apps Using iCloud, click iCloudMail, then turn on Sync this Mac.
macOS13 to 13.2: Choose Applemenu > System Settings, click [your name] at the top of the sidebar, click iCloud, click iCloudMail, then click Turn On.
macOS12 or earlier: Choose Applemenu > System Preferences, click AppleID, click iCloud, then select iCloudMail (or Mail).
Follow the onscreen instructions to create an iCloudMail address.
If you do not see onscreen instructions after turning on iCloud on your Mac, you already have a primary iCloudMail email address.
Create a primary iCloudMail address on iCloud.com
Go to icloud.com/mail and sign in with your AppleID.
Click Create Email Address, then follow the on-screen instructions to create an iCloudMail address.
If you see an inbox instead of Create Email Address, you already have a primary iCloudMail address.
After you set up your @icloud.com email address, you can use it to sign in to iCloud.com and your devices, in addition to using your AppleID. See Use your AppleID with iCloud.
Thanks for your feedback.
