Google Pay now allows you to create a group tochat with multiplepeople at once.
Create a group
From the discovery page
Important: The group creator is the default group admin.
- On your device, open Google Pay
. - Tap on the search bar.
- Scroll and tap New group.
- Select the contacts you want to add. You can add up to 100 members.
- Tap Add.

- Open the chat of a person you want to add to a group.
- Tap More.
- Tap Start new group.
- Select the contacts you want to add. You can add up to 100 members.

Manage a group
Edit the group name
Important: Any group member can edit the group name.The groupname is visible to all members.
- On your device, openGoogle Pay .
- Go to the group you want to edit.
- In the top right, tap MoreGroup Settings.
- You can also tap the group conversation app barGroup Settings.
- You can also tap the group conversation app bar
- Tap the current group name.
- Enter a new group name of up to 20 characters.

Invite your contacts
- On your device, open Google Pay .
- Go to the group chat you want to add members to.
- At the top right, tap More Group Settings.
- You can also tap the group conversation app bar Group Settings.

- Tap Add people .
- Select the contacts that you want to invite.
- Tap Add.

.Invite by link
- On your device, openGoogle Pay .
- Go to the group chat you want to add members to.
- In the top right, tap MoreGroup SettingsInvite people by link.
- You can also tap the group conversation app barGroup SettingsInvite people by link.
- You can also tap the group conversation app bar
- Select an invite option:
- To copy the invite link to your clipboard, tapCopy link.
- To share the invite link via WhatsApp, Messenger, Twitter, or Facebook, tapShare link.
- To reset an expired invite link, tapReset link.
Invite by QR code
- On your device, open Google Pay .
- Go to the group chat you want to add members to.
- In the top right, tap More Group Settings Invite people via QR code.
- To have people join your group, download and share the QR code.
Tip: To reset your QR code, in the top right of the screen where you have the QR code, click More 
, then select Reset QR. Your current link and QR code will be deactivated and replaced with a new one.
Remove group members
Important: Only the group admin can remove group members.
- On your device, open Google Pay .
- Go to the group chat you want to remove members from.
- At the top right, tap More Group Settings.
- You can also tap the group conversation app bar Group Settings.
- You can also tap the group conversation app bar
- In the group members section, select the contacts that you want to remove.
- Tap Remove from group.
Leave a group
Important: After you leave a group, thechat history is removed. If the admin leaves the group, the second person to join isthe new admin.
- On your device, openGoogle Pay .
- Go to the group you want to leave.
- In the top right, tap MoreGroup SettingsLeave group.
- You can also tap the group conversation app barGroup SettingsLeave group.
- You can also tap the group conversation app bar
Tip: You can delete the group and chat history when you leave a group. In the group conversation, in the top right, select Delete group.
Turn off notifications for a group
- On your device, open Google Pay .
- Go to the group you want to mute.
- At the top right, tap More Group Settings Mute Notifications.
- You can also tap the group conversation app bar Group Settings Mute Notifications.
- You can also tap the group conversation app bar
- Turn notifications off.
Turn off notifications for all messages
- On your device, open Google Pay .
- At the top right, tap on the profile picture.
- Go to Settings Notifications & emails.
- For "Chat messages," turn off notifications. This controls both private and group chat messages.
Report anissue
- On your device, openGoogle Pay .
- Select the group that you want to report the issue.
- In the top right, tap MoreReport groupReport.
Note: Please note that Google Pay will review the group and its recent messages for spam and other activity.
