Cryptocurrency News:Bitcoin and cryptocurrency prices fell Friday and reversed from a brief rally after the August jobs report came in short of forecasts. The price of bitcoin jumped near $57,000 early Friday before bottoming out at $53,334, back at its lowest level since early August.
Ethereum swooned 6% Friday and erased its gains from the year as the crypto markets slumped.

Cryptocurrency Price Action
Bitcoin traded around $53,500 late Friday, down more than 4% over the last 24 hours, and back to its lowest level since Aug. 5.
Bitcoin has slowly pared its gains on the year from its March 14 record high of $73,798. That surpassed its previous all-time high of $68,990 set in November 2021.
The world's largest cryptocurrency rebounded about 157% in 2023. Bitcoin is up about 23% so far this year.
Ethereum fell near $2,210 Friday, now down about 46% from its 2024 high.
ETH hit its 52-week high of $4,092 on March 12, which marked the first time it crossed the $4,000 threshold in 26 months. The No. 2 crypto is still well below its November 2021 peak above $4,800.
Ethereum is now down about 3% in 2024.
