Helps DAOs verify ownership of digital assets on Discord for token-gated channels and roles

Overview
What is it?
Collab.Land is a Discord bot that manages token-gated channels and roles.
It includes functionality to:
- Verify whether a user owns a given digital asset (ERC token) necessary to enter a given channel or have a certain role, and if they do, give them access.
- Automatically kick a user out of a gated channel or role if they sell or otherwise get rid of the token required to be in it.
- Tip other users within a server.
What problem does it solve?
Managing a community of thousands of people is challenging. Having to manually manage roles and channel access is a massive amount of work.
Collab.Land allows community managers to leverage digital assets to programmatically manage permissioning for channels and roles, resulting in a scalable and highly configurable solution to these challenges.
How does it work?
Collab.Land uses signed messages to link a Discord account to an Ethereum address, verifying that the Discord user owns the account that they say they do.
Once a user is verified as owning the required digital asset(s) for roles and channels within a discord, Collab.Land automatically grants them access.
Collab.Land constantly checks whether the account that a user is linked to still owns the required digital asset for a gated role or channel, and if that ceases to be the case (the asset was sold or otherwise sent away from the address) those permissions are revoked.
How do I use it?
DAO Masters Insights
Why it's cool:
One of the superpowers of digital assets is the ability to use them as programmable identities. Collab.Land enables real communities to utilize this ability in a scalable and automated way!
Challenges:
Collab.Land still requires some technical knowledge to set up (as opposed to entirely click-and-drag operated tools), so it may take some trial and error to get it up and running.
Words of advice:
Use templates! Find examples of how others have set up their Collab.Land bots before and try to replicate/get the basic functionality working before trying to customize yours.
