Delonte West is alot like Stephon Marbury in the sense that hes a legit NBA player, but just has more than few loose screws. Delonte is currently suspended for the first 10 games of the season after pleading guilty to weapon charges.
With that being said, Has Delonte West played his last NBA game?
And if your an NBA GM in need of a solid ‘lead’ guard, do you take the chance on West?

Marbury was a career 19.3-7.6 player and an All-Star…West is a career 10-3.7 player and a fringe starter. And while Marbury was just sorta nuts, West is more of a criminal. I don’t think he’s played his last game, somebody will pick him up, I was never a fan of him as a player.

i dont think he’s played his last game..last year after he was arrested for imitating the road warrior carrying all those weapons on his bike..
he played well for Cleveland..despite all his off the court issues..and besides Lebron he was the only other Cavs player that could create his own shot..
earlier this summer i read that Boston might have some interest..
dont be surprised to see some team give him a try ..if 1 of their players get injured…

If I was to sign that dude, I would try to make sure he stays away from my star’s mom. The rest of my players’ mothers, too.

Especially if a few of the point guards who have moved around or just come into the league this summer don’t pan out. Chris Paul still doesn’t have a very solid backup. (Just keep Delonte away from his mom.)

Lou Amudson
Will Bynum
Larry Hughes
Earl Watsonamong others are all still unsigned?
I mean, none of them are big time NBA players, but there all servicable and can have a positive impact on a team..

Expect Amundson to sign with either Pacers,Warriors or Hornets by next wednesday…
dont know why Flip has been on so many teams..he’s a good 7th or 8th guy to come off the bench

I know the Hornets signed Shakur, but he isn’t really a proven commodity. There’s something about him I like, but as you said, he isn’t the answer.
And I’m not really saying the Hornets should sign West anyway. I was just making the point there are still some teams who have yet to address a few needs and that was the first one that came to mind. Plus, Chris Paul is enough of a big-name player I got to make my keep Delonte away from his mother joke. 😛 (I’m trying to get a mention in one of the future funniest posters threads.)
I am very surprised that all four of those guys you mentioned haven’t been signed yet. I think they could help a lot of teams.

Delonte is a great 6th man, he might roll around “overprotected” but the man’s a manic depressive. They have highs and lows and it looks like that counts for guns as well.

There is an un written rule in the NBA, that if the T-Wovles waive you, then you don’t belong in the NBA.
