Summary
- Sam Wilson from 90 Day Fiancé faced potential jail time for drug charges but was admitted to a diversion program.
- His addiction history and missed deadline for the program created tension in his relationship with Citra.
- Despite the challenges, Citra chose to stay with Sam, who is currently living in Missouri and traveling to Indonesia.
90 Day Fiancé star Sam Wilson got married to Citra in season 10, but it wasn’t revealed if the Missouri man ended up in jail after the wedding. Sam is a 30-year-old from Cameron, Missouri, while Citra is a 26-year-old from Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. Sam and Citra met through a dating app over four years ago. Sam proposed to Citra during his first trip to Indonesia. Due to Citra’s strict Muslim upbringing, the couple wasn’t allowed to be intimate before getting married. Sam was also asked to convert to Islam ahead of their wedding in America.
Citra moved to the U.S. on a K-1 visa while her father and two sisters joined her there on tourist visas. Sam was worried about having to go to jail shortly after his nuptials because of his arrest in the past. Sam had failed to take part in his court-ordered drug diversion program. Sam had become addicted to drugs at 15 and became clean at 22. However, Sam relied on Suboxone to treat his opiate addiction. Sam said he was on a business trip with a coworker when he was pulled over and cops found Suboxone without a prescription bottle on him.

Why Was 90 Day Fiancé Star Sam Arrested?
According to jail records obtained by Starcasm, Sam was arrested March 27, 2023. Sam was “initially charged with felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of buprenorphine (Suboxone is a brand name for buprenorphine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia." Sam was released from jail on March 28, 2023, after he posted his $2500 bond. While Sam mentioned he was traveling with a co-worker when he was arrested, it was a 25-year-old woman who was seemingly speeding when they were pulled over. Sam intended to apply for the diversion program, but the court was “awaiting signatures” as per the docket entry.
90 Day Fiancé's Sam Kept A Secret From Citra
Sam had missed the deadline to file the application and was facing jail time. The program could be done for “one to several years” where one had to take tests to show they weren’t on drugs and take drug classes to avoid jail time “as long as you do everything properly.” While Citra knew about Sam’s addiction and also the arrest, Sam didn’t tell her about how his missing his deadline for the diversion meant he could be facing jail time (via Popculture.)
Citra didn’t choose to end her engagement with Sam after he told her the truth. Citra’s father, however, threatened to take her back home to Indonesia if Sam received jail time. However, the pair got Citra's father's blessing to marry regardless of Sam's legal outcome.
Sam Got Admission In The Diversion Program
A different report by Starcasm confirms that Sam was officially granted admission to the diversion program by the Court on December 15, 2023. The guidelines, restrictions, and requirements of the diversion agreement “are very strict.” Sam “[understood and agreed] that failure to fully complete any of the conditions … will form a sufficient basis for prosecution to be resumed.” The 90 Day Fiancé star’s diversion program is going to take place over 12 months. Sam continues to live in Missouri with Citra but seems to be currently traveling in Indonesia.
90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
