Hi,
Thanks for posting in Q&A platform.
For checking DA connection status, you could run the following command in PowerShell with administrator privilege from client side.
netsh interface httpstunnel show interfaces
Get-DAconnectionStatus
Meanwhile, I found the following articles regarding of troubleshooting DA issue, you could have a look:
DirectAccess Troubleshooting and the Windows 10 Network Connectivity Assistant
Best Regards,
Sunny

2021-03-10T22:40:23.65+00:00 Hi Sunny thanks for your response
I've had a quick read on the articles and unfortunately i dont think they are applicable to the questions i am asking? apart from the log part
As mentioned, where my users are unable to connect to Direct Access, the status of DA is stuck at connecting. The easiest fix is to restart the machine however there are occasions where i will need to perform multiple restart for DA to successfully connect. I'd like to know that instead of restarting the machine, am i able to run a script or command instead to resolve that instead?
I will continue researching as well but will be great if i can get some assistance
Thanks!

2021-03-16T05:41:39.077+00:00 Hi,
Thanks for your feedback.
For DA issue's troubleshooting, usually we need to collect ETL trace when issue reproduced, there is no related event log in windows event viewer. And as you mentioned, the workaround for this issue is restart the machine. Please understand, from Q&A platform support level, it's hard for us to analyze the root cause for this issue. For the detailed steps for collecting and analyzing the ETL trace, I would suggest you contact Microsoft Support for further help:
