Trips to Rainbow Bridge may be made across Lake Powell in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area using private, rental, or tour boats. From Wahweap or Antelope Point, travel north. From Bullfrog and Halls Crossing, travel south.
Proceed to the mouth of Forbidding Canyon (buoy 49), where a floating sign on the right marks the canyon entrance. Follow the canyon about 2 miles (4 km) to another sign that points the way left through a narrow passage. Proceed with caution! Beyond the wakeless buoys, go slowly so that no wakes, or waves, are made.
You may backpack to Rainbow Bridge across Navajo Nation lands. A permit from the Navajo Nation is required.

Rainbow Bridge can be reached by three trails. Over 200,000 people visit the national monument every year and all but a few hundred take a seven-hour boat ride on a private, rental, or tour boat across Lake Powell of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area to a floating dock in the flooded canyon west of Rainbow Bridge.

Crossing the bridge takes around 15 minutes, but count at least 15 minutes to pass through customs at each end (more at busy times). The pedestrian walkway is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.
There are a few ways to get to Rainbow Bridge. You can either rent a powerboat for a day, take a boat tour from Wahweap, or take your own boat. If you've got a houseboat rental with jet skis or a kayak, you can use those, too.
If you are a citizen of the United States over the age of 16, you will need a Passport, a Passport Card or Enhanced Driver's Licence (only issued by certain states) to enter Canada. If you are travelling by air, you are required to have a passport, regardless of age.

Most visitors spend at least two to three hours exploring Natural Bridges. Plan on stopping at the visitor center and touring the paved, one-way Bridge View Drive (9 miles/14.5 km) with overlooks of all three bridges.
