The cost of Disney Plus has increased multiple times since the service's launch in 2019, but it remains a competitively-priced streaming option. Plans currently start at $8 a month but will increase this October. All members get access to the full Disney Plus library of movies and shows, including exclusive series like "X-Men '97," upcoming movies like "Inside Out 2," and a huge back catalog filled with animated classics.
On October 17, 2024, most tiers of Disney Plus will increase in price by an average of $2. Right now, there's an ongoing deal for new and returning subscribers bringing three months of Basic to $6, but afterward all plans will renew at the new price. You can saveif you sign up for a Disney Plus Bundle with Hulu and either Max or ESPN Plus. And you get Disney Plus included with a Hulu + Live TV membership for no extra cost.
Despite the upcoming Disney Plus price hike, we think the platform remains one of the best streaming services you can sign up for, especially for families and fans of Marvel and "Star Wars." Even after the increase, the ad-free plan remains cheaper than similar options fromNetflix or Max.
Below, we've provided a full Disney Plus price breakdown for every plan and package.
Disney Plus is the top streaming choice for families and fans of blockbuster franchises like Marvel and "Star Wars." This plan features ads and does not support downloads. This is the cheapest tier, although the Hulu bundles are only a few extra dollars a month.

Though the full Disney Plus catalog is included with a standard subscription price, Disney occasionally offers early access to select titles that are still playing in theaters for an additional $30 fee. This option is called "Premier Access."

Does Disney Plus charge for password sharing?
Disney Plus does not allow members to share their passwords with users outside their household, but the service has announced plans to start charging an extra fee for this feature officially in June.
It was announced in a February earnings call by CFO Hugh Johnston that accounts "suspected of improper sharing" will be given new opportunities for borrowers to begin their own memberships starting this summer. Following that, Disney Plus will start charging for password sharing by offering account holders the option to pay an extra fee for users outside of their household. Pricing has not yet been announced.
