Can you dispute Cash App card transactions? ›

Until the funds are captured by the merchant, the transaction will show up as “Pending” in your activity log, and it cannot be disputed. Pending transactions are typically captured within 10 business days. Once the transaction status updates to “Completed,” you may dispute it.

Unlike credit card purchases, where you can dispute charges, Cash App 844 -906-6182 does not guarantee refunds for payments made to scammers. Once you send money through the platform, it is usually gone for good.

Cash App can't cancel or refund a payment after it has been completed. If you sent money to the wrong account, ask the recipient for a refund: Tap the Activity tab on your Cash App home screen. Select the payment in question and tap Completed.

Refunded payments are generally returned instantly to your Cash App balance if the funds were sent from your bank or Cash App balance. If the funds were sent from your credit card, the funds will be returned to that card. The refund may also return to your card if it can't be returned to your Cash App balance.

While banks are generally obligated to refund money lost to fraud, they may deny the refund if you were negligent or involved in the scam. Whether or not your bank will refund scammed money depends on the bank's policies, the type of scam, and how you paid. But there are consumer protections available.

The class action lawsuit alleges Cash App and its parent company Block were negligent when a former Cash App Investing employee accessed unauthorized account data in 2022 and when another user accessed certain Cash App accounts in 2023, using recycled phone numbers that were linked to the accounts.

How do I reverse a pending transaction on Cash App? ›

To cancel a payment that is pending, the user needs to open the app and click on the clock icon in the top right corner. This will take them to the "Activity" tab, where they can view all their transactions. Locate the payment that needs to be canceled and check if it is still pending or has already been completed.

If you refund a payment, the money will be returned to the sender's Cash App balance instantly if the funds were sent from the sender's Cash App balance or debit card. If the funds were sent from a credit card, the funds will be returned to the sender's card.

To dispute a recent Cash App Card purchase, first reach out to the merchant to have them attempt to refund the payment. If the refund does not appear within 10 business days of reaching out to the merchant, please reach out to the merchant again to confirm before contacting Cash Support.
