Kuwait is not a member of the Apostille Convention, therefore US documents to be used in Kuwait must be legalized by the Embassy. Depending on the type of document, obtaining a certified copy or a notarization is the necessary first step. The process continues with authentication at County and State level. The document is then sent to Washington D.C. for further attestation by the Arab American Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Department of State. The legalization is finally completed at the Embassy.
