Does Three support eSIM? ›

With Three, you can switch from a physical SIM to an eSIM if you are on one of our Three Your Way plans. You can check if you are on one of these plans by checking your My3 account. To swap your SIM, you'll need to call our contact centre or visit one of our stores.

To transfer an eSIM to a new phone, just get in touch with Three (either in store or by calling 333 from your Three phone or 0333 338 1001 from another phone). You'll be given a new eSIM QR code to scan on your new phone, in the same way as you set your eSIM up the first time.

If your iPhone is not compatible with an eSIM, chances are it is either blocked for international eSIMs, your carrier doesn't support eSIM usage, or your operative system is updated. If you have doubts about your device, you can always check with Apple support to find out the exact reason.

Some possible reasons for eSIM transfer not working include: Outdated iOS version: Ensure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Regularly check for updates and install them to benefit from bug fixes and improvements that may address transfer issues.

You can set up Dual SIM with the following: One physical SIM and one eSIM; available on iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone SE (2nd generation), and iPhone 14 and later (purchased outside the U.S.) Two eSIMs; iPhone 13, iPhone SE (3rd generation), and later.

How to activate a Three eSIM on Android. On Android the process to activate a Three eSIM is very similar to on an iPhone. All you need to do is ensure Wi-Fi is enabled, then start up your phone's camera, point it at the QR code that Three will have sent you, and wait for it to scan.

Other eSIM activation methods

Some carriers may send you a link instead of a QR code to download your eSIM. On your iPhone with iOS 17.4 or later, tap the link to set up your eSIM.

Contact your carrier to move your phone number from your physical SIM to an eSIM using eSIM Carrier Activation or by scanning a QR code. Tap Convert Cellular Plan. Tap Convert to eSIM. Wait for your eSIM to activate.

How do I make my phone eSIM compatible? ›

Simply get an 'eSIM.me card' from the eSIM.me website, put it in one of the SIM slots in your Android phone, download the app from the PlayStore - and you are good to go. If playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device.

Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager > Add eSIM. If the “Add eSIM” option is available, your device will support eSIMs. You can also tap “IMEI” in the search bar of your settings, and the option “IMEI information” (or something similar) should appear. If “IMEI (eSIM)” is available, your device supports eSIM.

If you scanned the eSIM QR code with your phone's camera once, the eSIM may have been already installed on your device. Thus the QR code cannot be installed another time and that's why you're getting such error message. To confirm that your eSIM is already installed, you can check that under the device settings.

Sometimes, an eSIM can get stuck activating on an iOS device. This usually happens when you have installed an eSIM but haven't yet arrived at your destination country/region. You can rest easy knowing that the eSIM is fully installed, even if it displays "activating" or "activation failure.".

All iPhone models that support eSIM can have multiple eSIMs and use Dual SIM with two active SIMs at the same time. You can use Dual SIM by using a physical SIM and an eSIM. iPhone 13 models and later also support two active eSIMs. iPhone models without a physical SIM tray support two active eSIMs.
