Frequent travellers to the UAE will appreciate the emirates' new visa geared towards visitors from India from where tourism has surged since the pandemic. According to figures from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai saw 2.46 million overnight visitors from India in 2023 – a 34 per cent increase from 2022. The UAE has now introduced a five-year, multiple-entry visa for Indian travellers in line with visa offerings to other passport holders. Here’s what you need to know.
What is the new UAE visa?
The visa allows its holder to stay in the country for 90 days, extendable once for a similar period, with a total stay not exceeding 180 days in one year. The visa will remain valid for five years and allows multiple entries and exits for business as well as leisure travel.
Is there a cap on the number of entries and exits during its validity?
You can enter and exit as many times as you like as long as your stay does not exceed 180 days in total in a given year.
What are the visa requirements?
- A photo
- A copy of your passport that’s valid for at least six months
- Six months’ bank statements. Your bank balance needs to have a balance of at least $4,000.
- Health insurance
- Round-trip flight tickets
Applicants do not require a sponsor or host in the country.
What’s the processing time?
The visa will be issued within two to five days.
