This page contains information on upgrades available to a players space exploration suit in No Man's Sky. Suits can be upgraded through crafting and through relays in Space Stations and Atlas Stations.
Number of Suit Upgrades
There are a total of 48 slots in the exosuit inventory. You can purchase 35 upgrades throughout the game. The first upgrade costs 10,000 units and the last upgrade costs 350,000 units. That means you will need 6,300,000 units in order to maximize the number of slots in the exosuit.
Upgrading your inventory is hugely important in No Man's Sky. It allows you to carry more, which means you can earn more from mining and trading and be more ready for diverse situations. You can add inventory slots to your exosuit and your starship; as well as this you can also add more modification slots to your multi-tool.

Method 1: Scanning
With No Man's Sky Atlas Rising and NEXT, Signal Scanners have been replaced by buildable Signal Boosters that you can create and place anywhere to search for nearby points of interest - including Drop Pod Locations (if you have the right type of Navigation Data).
Inside the Drop Pod will be an Exosuit upgrade. However, Exosuit Upgrades in Drop Pods are now damaged, and require extensive repairs to unlock. If you are able to find all the necessary materials - you won't have to pay any money for them.
Method 2: Flyovers
Flying low and slow by day over sparse, light colored planets makes spotting Drop Pods from the air pretty easy. Leveling out on unwooded worlds and keeping a sharp eye will usually turn up a few Pods ready for looting.
Method 3: Space Stations
Each Space Station you visit actually has an Exosuit available for upgrade - but the location isn't obivious.
Head to the side of the station with the various merchants who barter with Nanites, and look for one who deals in armor blueprints and upgrades. If you look past him, you can activate a large cylinder near him, and purchase an Exosuit Upgrade.

The first upgrade only costs 5,000 Units, but they will cost more each time you add more space.
