Welcome! As a first-year student, you're among friends. WSU Vancouver is home to a growing class of first-year students.

Apply early!

WSU Vancouver accepts qualified applicants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Take a moment to review your application to-do list.

Admission requirements

  • You expect to graduate from high school this academic year
  • Or, you have graduated and have not been enrolled in college beyond the first summer after graduation

Does this sound like you? If not, check our full list of applicant categories.

Admission criteria

To be eligible for admission, you must meet the College Academic Distribution Requirements, or CADRs, established by the Washington Student Achievement Council.

If you also have an unweighted, cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, you are guaranteed admission. If your GPA is lower, you may be required to submit additional documents for admission review.

Additional considerations

  • If you are applying while still in high school, you must maintain a satisfactory academic record and complete graduation before you can enroll at the university.
  • For priority consideration, submit your admission application by March 31 for fall semester and Nov. 15 for spring. Later applications are accepted if space is available. If you decide to attend at a different time, you’ll have to re-apply.

"I was born and raised in Vancouver. I attended and graduated from Clark College during high school while working. Last year was my first year on campus, and I decided to quit my job because I had become financially secure through scholarships. So I was able to dedicate my time to becoming involved. I participated in the College Access Program, was a member of the elections board, and was an Impact Volunteer. What I love about WSU Vancouver is that it is only 15 minutes away from home, and I get to enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest."
