Found 5000 Pesos bill in box at home....where to exchange?
I was just going through an old box and found a bill for 5000 Pesos from my husbands trip about 13 years ago. I didn't even think it would be worth much knowing absolutely nothing about mexican currency, but looked it up and found out it's a nice chunk of change here. Where can I go to exchange it to USD? I've never done this before - we are in Florida...Thanks for your help!

That 5000 is probably not really worth what you think:
Mexico's currency is the Mexican Peso (sometimes referred to as the New Peso (Nuevo Peso), since Mexico re-valued its currency in 1994. There are one hundred Mexican cents (Centavos) to every peso.
1 new peso = 1000 old pesos
So 5000 in old pesos is worth 5 new pesos, about $0.50 US. Not exactly worth exchanging.

Wow, that figures! I guess I should have gone with my first hunch that it wasn't worth anything - too bad I got used to the idea of having $450 in my pocket. Thanks guys!
