Wanderer is a character released in Genshin Impact 3.3. He wields an Anemo Vision and plays a massive role in the Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises Archon Quest. Here, players can experience the story following the events of Balladeer and Lesser Lord Kusanali.
Near the end of the Archon Quest in Genshin Impact, the Wanderer regains his memories and decides to keep his sins while hoping for a new beginning. Additionally, during this chaotic event, he manages to gain an Anemo Vision and single-handedly defeat the Everlasting Lord of Arcane Wisdom. Once everything seems to calm down, he asks for a new identity to begin a new chapter in his life. 9 Hifumi
The Wanderer’s previous incarnation has been through three betrayals. The first one is when Genshin Impact Ei created him to be the holder of her Gnosis but quickly changed her mind after he shed a tear. The Electro Archon didn’t want to place a heavy burden on him, so she sealed his powers and set him free to live his life.
The second betrayal is when Niwa supposedly ran away from Tatarasuna, leaving the Kabukimono to deal with the situation. The final betrayal came in the form of a little sickly child who promised to stay with the puppet, which was broken as the boy died. The name Hifumi literally means 1,2, and 3, which can symbolize the three betrayals or the three stages in which the Wanderer lived his previous life; Raiden’s Puppet, Kunikuzushi, and Scaramouche (Balladeer).
8 Haruto
Haruto is a name driven from Japanese roots that means distant, soar, and fly. All of these characteristics describe the Wanderer perfectly. After he went with the Traveler and remembered his past life, he regained his past distant self and preferred solitude.
Whenever the Wanderer uses his Elemental Skill in Genshin Impact, he will soar into the air and fly for the rest of his Skill duration. It’s almost fitting since flying is linked to freedom, and he did free himself from all of his sins in a sense. Players can also use the name Kaito as it has the same meaning as Haruto, soaring. Along the theme of flying, players can also use Sora, which means sky, or Arashi, which means storm or new heart.
7 Zephyrus
According to mythology, Zephyrus (Zephyr) is the ancient Greek God of the west wind. An obvious similarity between him and the Wanderer is the wind element since the latter wields an Anemo Vision in Genshin Impact. Additionally, Zephyrus is said to have a ‘sweet breath’ that earned him the name Zephyr, meaning gentle breeze.

Long ago, the west wind became favored by the Greeks as it indicates the end of harsh winter and the beginning of spring. As a result, Zephyrus is also considered the god of spring, which symbolizes growth and new beginnings. The symbolism behind the god’s west wind can be compared to how the Wanderer ended his own existence and got reincarnated into a new body, free of sins and heartache. If players enjoy the idea of using god's names, then they can also consider Fujin and Fuuten.
6 Kiyoshi
By looking closely at the Wanderer’s outfit, a lotus shape can be seen on the top of his hat. In general, lotus flowers symbolize purity in Genshin Impact because they rise from the dirt without getting stained. Therefore, Kiyoshi is an excellent name since it translates to pure and soundless.
Although the Wanderer claims that he is tainted with the sins of his past and has a long way to earn forgiveness, there’s still a hint of purity in his actions. Like when he erased himself from the world, hoping to fix everything and give everyone a second chance. Sadly, this plan ended up failing since he only managed to remove his existence. Also, being reincarnated in a new body that hasn’t been tainted does come as a form of pureness. Alternatively, the word Ren also means lotus.
5 Saisei
Aside from pure, lotus flowers can also mean strength, resilience, and rebirth. The two Kanji forming the name Saisei can be translated to rebirth, which is one of the lotus symbols. As Travelers play the Archon Quest in version 3.3, the Wanderer is reincarnated into another body after removing his existence from Irminsul, making Saisei a fitting name for him.

As for the other lotus symbols, the Wanderer is a strong individual in Genshin Impact that withheld many hardships and betrayals which are masked by misunderstandings (strength). In addition, learning about his past after getting reincarnated didn’t break him down, but strengthened him by acquiring an Anemo Vision (resilience). Along the theme of rebirth, players can also consider Samsara for cycle of reincarnation.
4 Niwa
After Raiden Shogun sealed Scaramouche in Genshin Impact and left him to live his life, Katsuragi found him and brought the puppet to the Tatarasuna. He met a blacksmith later on by the name of Niwa Hisahide and considered him family. Niwa is always seen by the puppet’s side and will sometimes comfort the latter when others call him Kabukimono ("strange things" or "the crazy ones"). The blacksmith always used to tell him that the puppet is in fact a normal human, but was simply missing a ‘heart’.
Upon discovering that Niwa’s disappearance wasn’t actually a betrayal, but he was cruelly murdered by The Doctor in Genshin Impact and got his heart cut out, the Wanderer vows revenge. Therefore, Niwa is a fitting name to honor the person he considered family.
If inheriting an existing character's name seems like a great idea, then players can also try Makoto, the Traveler's name, Barbatos, or Alatus. Alternatively, the word Xion means remembrance, or I won't forget you, which can symbolize the idea of memories, both for Wanderer's loved ones, and the fact that his former existence was erased from the Irminsul.
3 Arata
Arata is another Japanese name befitting of the Wanderer as it means fresh start or new beginning. His past self has made some grave mistakes and almost became an artificial god due to his endless grief caused by the three betrayals. Upon discovering the truth, the Balladeer erases himself from Irminsul and gets reincarnated as the Wanderer.

Arata can be a fitting name for the Wanderer since he turned into a new leaf and accepted his sins while vowing to never make the same mistakes again. Additionally, he agreed to work for the Dendro Archon in Genshin Impact signifying the start of a new chapter in his life.
2 Masato
Scaramouche always struggled with his incomplete body, and it was the main reason he labeled himself unworthy of being Ei’s puppet since she sealed his powers. Later on, after encountering Niwa, the blacksmith considered him family and kept telling him that he is, in fact, human and not just a puppet.
When he became Scaramouche, the Genshin Impact Fatui took advantage of him and cruelly experimented on his body to create the Balladeer, an artificial god. Throughout his previous life, the Wanderer struggled to feel whole, as many deemed him incomplete or imperfect. This is why Masato is an excellent name because it means proper person, as in a complete human with a heart, which is what the Wanderer strives for. On the contrary, Scaramouche can also bear the name Muichiro, meaning does not exist. This is for both the fact that his heart and past are nonexistent.
